My prediciton of an interesting ticket... Palin and Rubio the new Hispanic Tea Party Senator from Florida. He is 39 and will turn 40 next May which is the minimum age for a VP. It will give the Wing Nuts an inroad to the Hispanic vote. Watch Rubio's quick rise within the party next year. Write his name down and watch him.

Would definitely be interesting but if Palin were to be nominated she would need a more established and chronologically mature running mate.  I think the country has had enough of gambling on a young whippersnapper who doesn't know **it from **inola about running a country.

Now Christie might be an interesting choice for Veep.....

_Would like to make a clarification to one of the above posts. minimum age for VP is 35. -As for who should be the repub duo, I honestly don't know. It seems to me that all the front runners carry too much negative baggage. -There is not too much time left for a true dark horse to come to the fore, capture the people's immaginatio, and most importantly, build a machine to get him/her elected. - However, teh New Jersey governor seems to be someone to watch. Talk about prejudice! ---I've heard several people say he'd make a good candidate, if he wasn't so fat! So much for substance over form; especially since last time, we chose form over substance!

I stand corrected. 35 is the minimum age. I used to live in Jersey and continue to read the Jersey papers. Christie is quite a character. The teachers, unions, libs hate him. I followed his illustrious career as US Prosecutor who went after the politicians in Jersey. He used to warn them that the next envelope they accepted would be from an FBI agent. And, some of them were caught in a sting accepting money in an envelope from the FBI. That is the NJ way of doing business and now they are living at the tax payers expense for a few years.

I like Christie.  I'd like to see him enter the fray for President in 2012.  I also like Pawlty from Minn.

But he is turning NJ around after the liberals and the unions with their entitlements and hand outs pretty much destroyed the state. Finally leadership and someone to stand up and do the right thing and not cave to the unions.

What are you just catching up after licking you wounds from the election. Yes he is a rising star and why the dems worked so hard against him. BTW, check your facts on the VP age ... it is 35 not 40. But he may be a good Presidential candidate.

If Palin is the nominee I would expect her to choose someone with "gravitas" and that would definitely not be Rubio.  Now if you had someone who needed a youthful, bright, tea-party approved VP then Rubio would fit the bill.  At this point I doubt Palin will be the nominee.

I too like Christie but wonder if he is too blunt for national politics.  I don't know if you saw his interview with David Gregory but he did a really good job answering the usual government media questioning.  As for Pawlenty, he too is an attractive candidate although he may not be socially conservative enough to get the nomination.  Who knows what will happen in 2011 but for sure the GOP is way more interested in ridding the country of Obama than ideological purity so maybe a more moderate on social issues will be acceptable.  A moderate on fiscal issues will be DOA.....
