Rasmussen daily tracking poll shows his approval among likely voters down to 46% and continues to slide. The Presidential Approval Index is at -10 and has been hovering around there for weeks. What is interesting is that the strongly disapprove continues to edge up the fluctuation in the PAI is primarily caused by fluctuations in strongly approve.
Both Gallup and Rasmussen have Republicans up 4% and 6%, respectively, over Democrats in the generic ballot. This result is almost without precedence as Dems always lead this generic poll. Independents and seniors everywhere (except on this forum) are abandoning the Dem party in droves. The deficit, takeover of health care and the economy are the main drivers.

The independents and moderates were primarily responsible for electing Obama. What do they know now about Obama that they didn't know then? Continuing to abandon him this early in his administration certainly doesn't speak well for their decision making. But then again, straddling the fence with wavering principles usually produces this type behavior.
