We opened Cathouse Marine about four years ago at Lake Martin.  Before that, we serviced Lake Martin by way of service trucks and will continue to do so.  We tried very hard to make that location work, but when we looked at it closely over the long term it just don’t work. (and it was a really tough Summer) I am sad to say we will be closing the Lake Martin location.  Another change underway  involves Cathouse Marine, Prattville location.  We have purchased property at 821 Davis St. with a 7 bay shop and have moved our main office there.  That shop also will house paint/gelcoat repair.   Also, our new and used boat sales are across the street along with 6,000 sq ft. of storage.  (Something we really needed at the Lake but did not have). The engine shop in Prattville will still operate on County Rd. 27 rebuilding engines both inboard and outboard.  The PWC shop will stay as stand alone in Autaugaville.   I have told many forum members/customers of our plans and sincerely appreciate all the support.  Lake Martin customers are great to us.  We are currently moving all inventory, tools and equipment to our new facility.  We are scheduling winterizations/service calls at this very moment.  Your business is VERY much appreciated.   My family and I thank you for your support.

Respecfully,
Steve Northington

Good Luck, Cat, with the new location and strategy.   Your plan will still take care of winterizing and minor repairs, while concentrating you major boat work in a closer location.  Thanks for giving the Lake Martin location a try.  You are an honest business guy who has to take measures to stay in business.

Hey Cat,  enjoyed meeting Dee Dee last week and talking to her and Steven.
They filled me in on the "goings on".  Will miss you at the lake but you're not too far away.
Take good care of my "boy" and "girl"  'doos

Steve: Cathouse fixed my boat 4 yrs ago, you did such a good job I haven't needed to come back.  Good luck with the new plan, sorry to see you go.

I was very sorry to hear about this decision but it sounds to me like you went through a very good analysis and decided what makes the most sense.  Running a remote operation is not only expensive but it can be a big distraction from other operations.  I am very glad to hear that you will still be able to provide remote services and I will certainly continue to use you!  Good luck with the new location!

Good luck Steve. I've sent a number of customers your way and every one thanked me. It takes a special operation to get that consistent response.

Steve, good to hear you will not be too far away.  Maybe it is me, but this seemed to be a slow year on the lake.  Did not see the traffic normally seen.  We seem to have become a holiday weekend lake.  Tremendous drop of regular weeks.

Best of luck in your business changes.
