I am going to start putting some cane in 5 gallon buckets with sakrete for crappie beds around real island.  I am trying to figure out what depths.  I was thinking some at 6 ft some at 12ft and 2-3 around 25ft.  I heard cane doesnt get you as hung up as christmas trees.

great idea, you might consider using concrete blocks for the shallow water ones. attached is a link for a guide in Arkansas using the same idea, might give you some additional ideas. look under habitat tab.  http://www.actionfishingtrips.com/index.htm
