BEEN SITTING ON THE SIDELINE, GLAD TO BE BACK.
I AM NOT SHOUTING, I JUST HATE THE SHIFT KEY, UNNECESSARY WORK, YOUKNOW.

I HAVE GIVEN CONSIDERABLE THOUGHT TO THE BAN O BIG BOATS, AND HAVE COME UP WITH A PLAN THAT MIGHT WORK.

1. BOATS OVER THE LIMIT IN BOTH SIZE OR SPEED WOULD BE PERMITTED TO USE THE WATERS OF LAKE MARTIN UPON THE ANNUAL PURCHASE OF A $2500.00 PERMIT.

2. THE MONEY'S OBTAINED FROM THE FEES WOULD BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING LAKE PATROLS.

3. A SPEED AND WAKE LIMIT WOULD BE ESTABLISHED FOR PERMITTED BOATS, (SUCH BOATS COULD NOT GO INTO SLEWS AT OVER 15MPH AND WOULD BE REQUIRED TO HAVE NO WAKE WHEN IN SUCH SLEWS) THE LIMITS ON SPEED IN THE OPEN WATER WOULD BE DETERMINED BY THE WATER PATROL AND PUBLISHED IN A MAP THAT SHOWED SUCH AND WAS DISTRIBUTED WITH THE THE PERMIT.

4. ANY VIOLATION WOULD INCUR A MINIMUM FINE OF $2500.00 ANY SECOND VILOATION IN A THREE YEAR PERIOD WOULD INCUR A $5000 FINE AND REVOCATION OF THE PERMIT.

A PLAN SUCH AS THIS WOULD PERMIT RESPONSIBLE BIG BOAT OPPERATORS TO USE THEIR BOATS AND BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA PATROLS WOULD ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM PEOPLE.

While I'm not a fan of being capsized in my small 18' V-hull by the larger boats; I don't believe there should be ANY boat ban - much less any additional fees for larger boats. If the boat has been legally manufactured and passes the required safety tests - then let em' go. If anything - I'm jealous and wish I could afford one.

I don't mean to slam your compromise - this is just my opinion, for what it is worth..

Marina check. How is Anchor Bay going to manage much lower water?

Sorry, Hunting231 - I was replying to HOTROD. His post surely was pure sarcasm. If not then that person needs a serious reality check....
