With The Lake rising it is time to think about SKIING!!!!

We need to buy skis. Have inherited all the skis we currently own and they are not very good quality. Don't know a thing about skis.

Husband uses 2. I slalom. We are both intermediate level skiers. I have a small foot so it is hard for the ski to stay on.

What do you guys recommend we get?

Thanks!

Dirt:

That is a loaded question as a decent slalom ski can cost approx $300 or so, but an intermediate / advance premium ski can cost you upwards of $500 with double bindings.

My wife has been skiing on an O'Brien World Team ski (decent ski) I purchased back in 1984 and she still likes it and I believe O'Brien still makes this ski.

I would look on Ebay and see what is available in USED and you can probably save a few dollars or more.

My daughter now want slalom ski and spoke to a friend who has been skiing all his life and he recommended highly the Connelly Concept with double fastback bindings - This ski and binding combo is around -- $500 or so.

Remember diff size ski for diff weights and also diff speeds of the boat. Just google waterski sizing or something similar and you should be able to find plenty of info on the correct size ski.

I still have my Jobe Honeycomb that I purchased back in the late 70's early 80's. Bob LaPoint used it and endorsed it and it was one of the best at the time. It is still in great condition the only problem is I am 3 inches taller and weigh about 80 lbs more than I did when I purchased it. My sister had an O'brien like the one you have. I think I am going to purchase a fairly good double set. The slalom will be good enough for anything I care about doing these days but it will be great for anybody that wants to ski on two. Bart's and Overton's always have specials and pretty good deals.
