I need to put a new receiver in my runabout. The Speaker system is still fine, but the receiver has played its swansong. I want something compatible with my iPod and XM radio that does not require a rat's nest of cords and cables thrown on the dash. Has anyone researched such an animal recently?

I just put a Sony Xplod CDX-M10 CD receiver in the pontoon boat last weekend. Sounds real good. I purchased the package deal with two speakers. It is not satellite ready. You would have to step up to the Sony Xplod CDX-M30 ($169.99) or the Sony Xplod CDX-M60UI ($199.99). I also purchased the Seaworthy RTR 600 in-dash radio cover to mount it in. Install was a breeze. 6 wires to hook up and plug the antenna in. I got everything from Overtons.com.

Check out a Boss or Fusion. Both have drop down front panels that you can plug your iPod and control just like a radio. Very cool. Displays song and artist. I purchased the Boss ... but that is before I saw the Fusion. I am happy with the Boss but probably would have purchased the Fusion. Amazon sells both. there is also two web sites you should check out. One is Rock the boat and the other is Anchor Express.
