we have not been down much lately? is there much activity on the lake? we have been a little aprehensive about the low levels to try and boat any. we have been on the lake for 10 years and never had a summer like this. missing good ole lake martin the way it used to be. do yall think it will be back next year?

Perception is a funny thing. Just tonight I was talking with someone and we agreed that this summer has reminded us of "good ole lake martin the way it used to be." No crowds, low traffic, little noise, and even the lower than usual water levels didn't used to be so unusual.

I'm sure things will return to normal soon enough, but until then, this summer has been a nice reminder of my version of the "good ol' days."

I've seen 2 boats and 1 PWC. Very quiet. I haven't bothered this year. If next year isn't any better I plan to make a effert. Maby I'll run a make shift boat ramp 150' somehow.

I can say even when Lake Martin is busiest it's still a relatively quiet Lake. 20 years from now the traffic will have double or triple what it is today. I love the old, but the new is great too. You have not seen crowded until you see places like Lake Lanier in Atlanta.

Having been on this lake for almost 50 years, I can tell you that the traffic is 50 or 100 times what it was not all that long ago. So to us, the doubling or tripling of traffic won't be anything close to what we have already seen. That's what Sam means by perception.
