The solid brown female is pregnant. We are not sure though if it is twins or not yet. We will probably know by the end of summer though since a goats gestation period is only 4 1/2 months.
As for the trash...Please no body believe that goats are Gods trash compactors!!! All of these goats have been raised by good families and are used to REAL food. While scraps from the cookout and leftovers from home are great, they can not digest the paper plates and syran wrap, potato chip bags or anything else of that nature. There are several families going out to the island weekly to place Goat Feed on the island, and if you would like to help with that there are a few donation jars in surrounding markets just for that purpose.
Thanks to everyone who has taken pleasure in the new goats. I grew up with them there and I am so happy to hear the wonderful and helpful response. I believe if we all work together we can make sure these goats make it for years to come.

Do you have a jar at the market?

What do they eat besides table scraps? What is in the feed that we can supply ourselves when we are in the area? They had MAJOR attention this past weekend and seemed to love every minute of it!

Hello, We just moved here from Tennessee. We have 2 goats Evie and Pearl, Both female. They are not fitting in in our neighborhood on lake martin. My sister-n-law told me about goat island. We were wondering if they could come to the island. Pearl had triplets in december. 2 boys and Evie. We sold the males. Evie is 6 months old and Pearl is 4 years old. They think they are dogs and come when you call them. We would love to contribute a brand new bag of goat food and help feed when needed. They will ride on the pontoon boat (which they like) to the island. I have a degree in Zoology from Auburn. I actually castrated my male goats, so if you need any kind of help let me know. Also, let me know if Pearl and Evie would be welcome on the island. Thanks.
