It is my opinion that you have made a couple of public relations errors. I KNOW that I am not alone in my thinking on this. To take a stand that our recreation is more important than downstream industry is counter productive. I don't think you will find a lot of sympathy for our plight from people that depend on the downstream flows for their livelihood as opposed to our recreation. Maybe you should poll your membership prior to making decisions and writing letters such as these in the future.
That and harping on the Mayor of Dadeville about the WTTP do not further your agenda or garner you favor in the community. Most people want to see organizations that commit to helping, not hindering. Why not approach the WWTP with a helping hand as opposed to clenched fist? A nice start would be offering to hold or at least help with a fundraiser to pay the expense of the meeting that you demanded.
Also, in the future please do not claim to represent all Lake Martin home owners, because if this is your stance, which obviously it is, I want no part of it. You or the HOBO do not represent my views. I can't under ANY circumstances put my recreation above others means of support. I fully intend to write letters to the CORPS and the Governor in opposition to your position. I feel certain I can get several friends and neighbors to sign on as well.

I assure you, I represent MUCH more of the population than you do. That will be your downfall. Arrogance has no place in special interest groups. Who do you really think the powers that be are going to side with, a few rich, arrogant lake homeowners who can't play, or blue collar workers that may loose their jobs?
