Wednesday evening someone came knocking on the door asking for donations for Lake Martin Rescue Service. I informed him I don't do door to door solicitations. He got kinda indignant so of course so did I. Talked with a neighbor last night and she said she called somebody to check up on the folks and was told they do not sanction any door to door solicitations. Beware!

Last night we had the same experience! Unless it is an emergency you should not be out at 8:30PM knocking on doors even if he was legit! I was not very cordial to the man and sent him on his way!

He came to our house during the day about one week ago.  When I told him we donated to LMSR in July, he said thank you and left.  Something that also sent flags was the amount he asked for.  We give $40 to LMSR - he wanted $50.  I know one neighbor gave to him.  What a shame!  He seemed to have all the credentials.  We are in Sturdivant area.

1. Anyone coming to my door to solicit a donation AFTER DARK?? Show them a weapon and ask for an ID.

2. Anyone coming to my door to solicit a donation BEFORE DARK?? Show them a weapon and ask for ID.

3. Timid??   At least ask for some ID?? I mean really??
