Half Goose half Swan spotted in Cooper's Slough near the power lines by Martin Dam. Not really sure if the perp was a swan or a goose but keep an eye out on your flock! Someone is either confused or just had a good New Years Eve. Happy New Years.

Interesting!!!  I don’t recall ever seeming one like that. I think it may be a greylag goose.

That guy has been hanging out with that flock of geese for at least a couple of years now. He definitely stands out from the crowd.

Interesting. A couple of weeks ago the boss and I were headed down Madwind Road. The boss was driving and as we headed over the Madwind Creek viaduct I noticed a flock of ducks with a few oddball in it. We turned around to go back and get a Pic but when we stopped they spooked and flew so I didn't get the Pic. When I got home I used DuckDuckGo (my favorite search engine because they don't track me) to look up pics of ducks. First I was a little surprised by how many different types there are but soon found a Pic of the ducks we saw. It was easily distinguishable because of a triangle of white on the head. They were Merganser Ducks. Never heard of them before so I researched a little. Technically we're are in their range and migratory routs but are much more common up north and primarily the pacific northwest. They were inter mixed with a rather large group of Mallards so I am sure some inter-breeding has/will take place.
