Did others get a letter from ComLink saying service would be bad "this" summer blaming the Windstream connection backbone and all the heavy users on vacation with their iPads streaming Flix.......  .. Further saying they were giving partial refunds and switching to AT&T.  I have not received such a letter in the past and the net on CL has been bad for multiple years.  It is interesting how this coincides with Windstream stringing new lines in our area to deliver Hi-net service. Probably just a coincidence, though.  I wonder what WS thinks about this letter?.....

I was so dissatisfied with the service that I tracked down the CEO's email address.

This was his response:

We (Com-Link, Inc.) have ordered a new Ethernet Circuit for our internet backbone from AT&T that will solve our bottleneck problem. We currently have a traditional TDM circuit to the internet through Windstream that does not provide enough bandwidth for the higher speeds 24/7. We have underestimated the demands by our customers for the summer months. The speed demands by the influx of laptops to the lake have been enormous. We are pushing AT&T hard to install the circuit as quick as possible. They have stated this morning that the circuit will be installed within 60 days. We will give you credit for the difference in the basic internet $34.95 and your current speed of $59.95 until the new circuit is installed. Our monitoring equipment shows the problem begins around 6:00 p.m. and end around 1:00 a.m. We value you as a customer and apologize for not being able to provide the quality of service that you expect at this time. Please be patient and we will have the problem fixed soon. If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

Larry C. Grogan

President

Com-Link, Inc.

Oddly, my problems usually begin around 10AM and go into the afternoon. It is almost always a channel separation where upload speeds bleed to 10-15% with normal download speeds and you can't do much of anything.. esp. use the VoIP phone.
