Does a cat have a tail?  Their service irratic at best.  I started to seek other providers but it seems there are none others with internet.  Reputable cable companies do not seem to exist in this country.  Wished Amazon would start a cable service!

Charter's speed varies by number of users.  I "speed test" often and normally speed is 60 to 62 Megs, but we tried to stream a movie on Fri and Sat during prime time....couldn't.  Speed Fri was 1.45 Meg,  Sat hit a low of 0.56 Meg.  Don't worry all dim little thumb pressers go home today.

I think that it's more than the dim little thumb pressers...my AT&T LTE was moving at a crawl too and it's usually pretty speedy...I wonder if it's a backbone issue since both Troy and Charter are so affected.

I have had Charter internet for years and think it still is the best in this area if you can get it.  It is expensive ($65 per month by itself).

Have had direct tv until they went up $50 per month so bundled with Charter and I am pleased.

Just checked Charter.  Speed is 22.5 Meg.  BTW, I test with Speedtest.com.  Good website to confirm possible problems.

Troy cable won't even register.

Check with speed test and then go to charters page and test and report the difference. When I was still tolerating charter I used to complain and they would insist I use their test page which would test fine while every other site would show a crawl.

Cable will slow down as more people are using it.With a big wekend, you can expect slower speeds. This is a good article.

Just trying to figure out if Troy Cable is worse than usual.  Didn't get one straight answer.

I got to the lake Friday night to find the cable was out, phone was out and aout half my breakers were popped.  Troy Cable service tech was there Sat morning.  He replaced something on the pole plus several splitters.  He said it was a very close lightning strike.  I still had several runs of the interior coax that were damaged and am waiting to get new coax pulled.  I didn't know lightning would detoriate the coax.
