You folks down below in the meandering threads...please post a new thread and continue on. It's getting very difficult to follow.

You are correctly citing the obvious. Perhaps, we might keep score of the names first venturing off thread. Such could NEVER happen in controlled debate. The first refuge of a losing position is to debase one’s opponent. It is not difficult to discern whose position is untenable… and where the thread is contaminated. We should have a forum gong.
AND, be not hesitant to gong me when I deserve it!

I agree with your suggestion to start a new thread as quite a bit of interest in the subject has resulted in a rather lengthy thread. I will continue the thread here by saying that Tallulahound has not responded to the subject "Oh and Buteye" that she used to attack me in her last reply. Maybe she decided to follow her own advice and decided to block me. However, I doubt that is the case. Also, as I went back and reviewed the complete thread, it appears to me that several contributors to the forum seem to believe that unless you are well educated and very articulate you should not use the forum to express your views. Personally, I don't think there are any prerequisites one has to fulfill in order to contribute to the forum. If my assumptions are wrong, I will bow to those who are better educated than I am. At this point I have no desire to continue to respond to this particular thread unless I am again attacked by "Guess Who".

If you look at the Ebola thread, I was posting in reference to MM link, which I actually took the time and read. It was interesting, it raised a lot of good points about what might happen. Lifer then made a snarky response about me needing "enlarge my references" or something to that effect. When I responded to him, Buteye jumped on me and started criticizing me for what I said to Lifer, which was really none of his business. I read the first part of what Lifer had to say with interest... but I don't really care much for his snark. It seems a lot like cyber-bullying to me, and most of us have seen that on the forums. It's great when you can hide behind an alias, so you can be a bully or just plain nasty. BTW, this is the only forum I use an alias on - and I for one would support using our real names.
I love a good debate with a lively exchange of ideas. It doesn't bother me if someone doesn't agree with my ideas or my opinions. I think it is great when we get a thread going and people are saying "what about this" and "what about that". I think it is great if someone can say that they've had this or that experience and it brings another layer to the discussion. One observation about this forum is that when someone doesn't agree with someone else's point of view, it starts to degrade the discussion into a personal attack.
Perhaps if everyone could just stay on topic and stop the personal attacks when someone posts something you don't agree with, everyone might learn something new. Woudn't that be great? It's a big world, and there are room for a lot of ideas - no one side has a monopoly on good ideas.

Hound you need to take responsibillity for your actions and quit trying to shift the blame to me and others. When you first returned to the forum recently I was glad to see it. Honestly it had gotten to be dull and you injected some life into the debate. That is until you referred to Hob as a 'wage grade', thereby starting the personal attacks, simply because he disagreed with you. I went back a reread the ebola thread also. Your suggestion was the same as all beaurocrats, throw more money at the problem. I had just read an article about the CDC and their budgets and was shocked to find out that only 6% went to infectious/communicable diseases study/prevention. My suggestion that you difersify your reading was sincere. Obviously wherever you get your news wasn't mentioning all the details. Like Congress allocating more than was requested by POTUS and 25 million in bonuses. More money into a beauracracy has never sovled anything.
You need a long look in the mirror. It is you that has started the personal attacks with commenst such as 'wage grade' and 'armchair expert'. Only you would extrapolate that my comments about the CDC budget translates into me thinking I am an expert that knows best how allocate/spend that budget. But I know wastefull spending when I see it. If you or anyone else went into business to sell widgets with $x.xx dollars, but only spent 6% of those dollars attempting to sell said widgets you would soon close, no matter how noble the causes that the other 94% was spent on.
Lastly, have you checked your Karma rating lately? You are at -18, up from -17 yesterday. By comparison, I am only at -8. Ponder on that a while.

Lifer's post speaks to exactly what I am talking about. Attack upon Attack. There are many things I could say back to Lifer, some of which would no doubt have Buteye attacking me too, but I"m going to let this one go. But you watch, it won't be enough for him.
To anyone who recalls what I said to H_hob, it was only after he attacked me for at least 2 years about working in the Pentagon. I doubt he has ever been to the Pentagon or has any idea at all what is done there. He has no respect for the military and civilians who work long hard hours to support the our uniformed troops, and the national security of this country. I"m proud to have worked there. Most of the time H-Hob attacked me had nothing to do with the issue being discussed.

He is the master of hijacking a thread and taking it to other places. I frequently have to spank him for trying to change to subject. Possibly his ADHD medication shipment from Mexico is late and he can't focus. Perhaps he wants to get away from the awful reality of Dem governance. Who knows what goes on in the mind of a left wing nut........I suspect it is a lot like making sausage except what comes out of the process is neither appealing nor logical.

Yes we see what you mean. Any post that contradicts or disagrees with you is an attack apparently. everyone is just suppossed to fawn over you and post nothing but laudatory posts about about how wonderful and insightful you are. Talk about sniveling!
My last post was nowhere near an attack on you, but if you wish to play that game I will be more than happy to now that I know the rules. But the rules must include a no whining clause when things get mean and nasty. I will play as dirty as you want untill you decide to pick up your toys and go home again.
And BTW, I will flag this one myself to save you the trouble of having to flag it like you have all my recent posts. I will also flag all of your posts from now on, just to keep things fair and balanced. Maybe I can get to a -18 like you.
Only being able to flag them must really be dissapointing since you used to have the power to just delete them. huh?

You made a simple request and look at the result. A rather amazing thread that fails to mention that I am in 1st Place with a -19 rating. The older I become the happier I am and the less I care what others say or think about me.

Martini, too bad you equate disagreement with hijacking. Suggest you get your facts correct. My meds come from Canada.

GF, once again you have posted a reply to one post under another one. This is a recurring theme with you that makes me wonder if you don't have the early warning signs of mental incapacity......oh wait a second, you are a left wing nut. Scratch that last comment....asked and answered.

I understand your issue. However, when I open a thread, I hit Open Entire Thread. It opens everything in chronological order(.ie by date and time). So, where it was posted as a response is lost. You need to request Bruce to revise the order he shows it based on where it was posted in the thread irrespective of the time. Then, your request of me will make sense.

You can still go back up the thread and select reply in the post you wish to respond to. It is in the upper right hand corner and the response will be placed under the proper post.
