I used to use charcoal all the time until I found out what's in it. I stick with gas now. Most processed charcoal is made from all kinds of wood, with a large proportion of it coming from scrap wood yards. AND YES THAT CAN INCLUDE PRESSURE TREATED WOOD!

Well, I am suspicious that they are now putting in some scrap asbestos to keep the store brands from cooking.

I have been researching on the net regarding making my own lump charcoal. I just need to find a 55 gal steel drum and a 30 gal steel drum. At least this way you keep the charcoal flavor without any additives. I'm lucky we have a lot of woods where I live so it would save me a ton of money.
