Two trendy Parisian restaurants have been accused of seating guests according to how good-looking they are to raise the tone of the establishments…

“Failure to obey the rules was said to result in reprimands such as: ‘What are these ugly mugs doing at this table? Everyone can see them when they come in. It’s very bad for our image’.  [The Telegraph UK, 06NOV13]

I think we know where more than half of Americans would be seated. ROFLMAO

Specifically, (American) men today say that their "ideal weight" is 185 pounds. They weigh, on average, 196 pounds.  Meanwhile, women today say that their "ideal weight" is 140 pounds. They weigh, on average, 156 pounds, according to the report…” [Huffington Post, 07NOV13] Hmmm… isn’t this a LIBERAL publication?

Check this math. The American Medical Association clearly recommends a body mass index (BMI) of 20 - 25.  The average American man has a BMI of 29.8 (68in/196lbs). The average American woman has a BMI of 26.8 (64in/156lbs). http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.htm

Number of the day 14… That's the dress size of the average American woman. More than half of them are plus-size - often classified as 14 to 34 - and retailers are targeting them with new fabrics and form-fitting styles to attract the younger generation.” [SFGATE, 07NOV13] http://www.sfgate.com/business/article/Average-American-woman-wears-Size-14-dress-3875516.php   Amazing! I am not making this up! The enlightenment in just this ONE citation is mind boggling.

Form-fitting styles! Gag me with a Parisian spoon!

We’re always looking for something to blame for everything that’s wrong in our lives and having a food intolerance is the holy grail. We can say: ‘It isn’t the fact that I lie flat on my back and eat cream cakes all day that made me fat, it’s the grilled aubergines I had for dinner last night. If I hadn’t eaten them I’d be size eight and 6ft 3in.’”

Gluten, he (Nutritionist Ian Marber) continues, is an easy target “because it’s so prevalent’.

“…coeliacs make up only one in 100 of the population, while one in five of us is buying gluten-free products. Surveys of US consumers show that, of these, only five per cent are buying to combat coeliac disease, with the vast majority citing their reasons as “digestive health”, “nutritional value” and “to help me lose weight”. People have been eating bread since biblical times without reporting adverse effects.

Following a gluten-free diet isn’t actively harmful, he adds. ‘If it makes you happy, do it!’ he laughs. “By buying that expensive stuff, you’ll certainly be making someone else very happy.  [The Telegraph, UK, 07 NOV13]

So… how much do YOU pay for bread and cookies?
