I know I'm opening the floodgates for the regulars here but.... did anybody see and unusually bright light in the eastern sky early this morning before light entered the sky? I've never seen anything like it.

Was it moving? Not sure when it was crossing (date/times), but I heard on the local weather report the International Space Station was crossing our sector of the sky.

Wasn't moving. I've seen the ISS and it moves fast from horizon to horizon. It was just there. Looked at it from a couple different rooms to make sure it wasn't a reflection. With binoculars it looked like a ball of haze with several small lights in it. I am 59... this is really puzzling me! And then it was gone but clouds were drifting around on the horizon and light was beginning to enter the sky. Watched it for about 25 minutes! Not much makes me get out of bed and investigate since the kids left home!

What had happened was......  I had taken out the Cat Boat for a night cruise.  Yep, boats can fly.  Or, maybe it was the Cat lite shining from the lake store????  Just kidding.  I wish you would have taken a picture.  Those sorta things interest me too.  Let me know what you find out.

Oh that explains it! I'm looking again tonight about 4  since I forgot about time change! If it was an extra bright star or planet, should be there again.

Jupiter is bright this time of year. It also has moons around it which can be seen in the right conditions.

not all of us are looking at Jupiter and its moons from 40,000 ft. LOL I bet it along with all the celestial setting are beautiful from your seat up there.

I must admit, the view can be amazing at times.
