It looks as if Ford has proposed this AFTER they have failed fixing the problems they have with their EcoBoost engines. Water is being collected in the intercooler and then gettin injested into the engine, causing stalling, engine missing and spark plug damage. I have a 2012 F150 with these problems. Has anyone on the forums had or knows of others that have. It appears that the Ford dealers are at the mercy of Ford, waiting on the corporation to try and resolve the problem.

Thanks for all post above. Yes I've researched a lot of blogs on the Internet. I'm concerned that Ford is NOT doing what they should be doing, also to maybe inform others that may not know about the problem. Ford has issued several "Technical Service Bulletin's" (TSB's) on the subject, but nothing to fix the problem. Long term effect on a engine that is getting hit with water droplets, permanent damage, either to the pistons or cylinder walls.

That's what we call reversion in the marine world, lucky its only wetting out the plugs, if she got a big dose she would hydro lock and bend/ break a rod, knock the crown outta the piston, push the combustion chamber outta the head or puke a head gasket!! None of which are good scenarios! Moving along, ford just plain sux! I mean remember the 6.0 powerjoke? Reliable source told ford had so much problems with them in the first two years, that the warranty equated to a mustang gt a minute!! When they finally got it solved, in typical Ford fashion, they scrapped it and went back to the drawing board! How about the 3 valve Triton motor with 100k first service, nd a 100k warranty, first service the spark plugs would break off in the head, needing very pricey tools and a long labor bill to repair, on average 1500 to 2000. When Ford was approached they basically said tough cookies, sorry bout ya luck, and now involved in a major class action suit! They seldom seem go do their homework properly, and when they do hit a home run, they dump it and start over.

Still the best selling truck HPHQ! Last year I bought a new Ford PU but chose the v8 model. My thought was for only about 1mile per gallon difference, you had to add 2 expensive turbo chargers to make power. While normally a small boost to a smaller engine is a way to get more reliable horse power without expensive internal modifications, I still felt that they would eventually fail. Ford uses 2 of them. I also knew it would happen after the warrantee was up!! Good luck, hope ford will take care of the problems. My last Ford had 274,000 on it b4 a Honda rear ended her and bent the frame. RIP whitey 3! Haha. Remember HPHQ,, you have had some pretty expensive repairs on the big Chevy diesel as well! When you live in AL, you gotta pick one of each,, Chevy or Ford,, Tigers or the Tide! That's just the way it is.

That is very true, but I believe it was my buddy dragging 20,000 pounds 250 miles without the tow/ haul button on that ate the converter. Tow mode locks the converter in second so its not slipping all the time. I can't prove he did that because the truck seemed fine for maybe a week after getting it back, but that was also right after my surgery so the use was minimal
