Is it normal to get a spark when connecting the battery on a Sea Doo? Wondering if it might be charging coils or capacitors somewhere, but this happens with the silver one. Or a short? It sat up a couple weeks and started fine but gave a maintenance warning for low voltage, so I disconnected the positive cable, charged it, and when reconnecting the cable got sparks.

It may simply be installing the positive cable with the negative installed. The sequence that should be used when disconnecting a battery is to disconnect the negative then the positive. When connecting a battery, connect positive and then the negative.
You start with the black and finish with the black.

Regardless, a spark means current and I need to know where that current is going. If to apply the initial charge to a capacitor or coil, that is ok because once they reach equilibrium no more current will flow. That seems to be the case because a short would have completely depleted the battery over a two week period, but I need to ensure it is not some sort of parasitic current.

A small spark seems to be the norm on a DFI 951. (that is what you have) The Low Voltage signal could be the voltage regulator.

I think the battery may have been the problem. Anyway I replaced it and if the problem arises again you'll be getting a visit.
