My boat is winterized in the backyard. Last nigh that storm blew through and a pine tree snapped in half. Clipped the rear of my boat. Busted the swim platform off and put a big hole in the boat. spider cracks galore in the hull. I have insurance, but my guess is that it will be in the shop for months. I am not sure how it can be fixed. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will be totaled.

If it's any consolation you have made my plight much more bearable. Yesterday's wind sent a large pine tree crashing through the stern half of my trailered cabin cruiser. It "rurnt" the stainless steel framing system, tore-up the sunbrella canopy and a few isenglass windows. I haven't yet been able to fully assess the extent of the damage. The tree split into three pieces when it hit the beam. The top-most piece was hollowed out and must have been the home of the baby owl that sat upright, perched on that rotted log. Mom and Pop were nowhere to be seen or heard. I found the youngster this morning huddled against the inside of a trailer tire.

Thanks. I live near Peachtree City. We had a bad windstorm. I do have a lake place. I called a full time neighbor there and they indicated that the storm was bad there as well. A big tree across the street from my lake place fell over the power lines, so from my house down the street was without power all night.

I am heading down tonight to try and forget about my broken boat. Just being there on the lake eases the mind.

Although, what is further depressing is that I built a new dock with a covered slip. Now I don't know when I'll be able to my new slip.

I guess I'll sit on the dock and drink the spring away.

I like owls so I hope the little guy finds a home.

Sorry to hear about your cruiser. It sounds as if it is in worse shape than mine. Hope you have insurance. I am still waiting to hear from my adjuster.

I really hope it's totaled.

Sorry about your trials...a rotten pine fell from my mom's back yard and landed on the doghouse of a sleeping Rotweiler next door...he never felt a thing. Life can really suck sometimes......

Looks like it's time to hire a tree surgeon to clip my beloved pines.

Hey RR, I normally enjoy your post but not this one.

just kidding of course. Don't wish harm for a pet but I just don't see a purpose for Rotweilers in a neighborhood Same goes for pit bulls, chows etc. - anything that has a history of aggression and biting. Now some insurance companies are cancelling homeowners insurance for keeping these bad boys.

Hey RR,

My sentiments exactly. The world's better off without this mongrol and anyone who wants to offer anything else isn't privy to the truth (TruthMan?). Even the dog's owner's were relieved...they didn't have the gonads to put the dog away. Nature...ya just can't fight it. I just thought it mighty ironic.....I could fill a list of people that nature could take when ready....

Watching the water rise never gets old. It's a wonderfully miraculous time of year that signals and end to a wonderful time and a beginning of another. The dadgum water seems to always chase me to the shore with wall work every year though...also greatly anticipated. Haven't lost the race yet....

Let's have a fantastic Spring......

You hit the point exactly. Training these dogs not to be vicious and aggressive would be like trying to train a retriever not to retrieve. Unfortunately a lot of people that buy these animals don't get it.

Spring Has Sprung!!! We be gettin' watah!!!

RR
