I want to give you all a heads up about the Green Monster Light. Ours was taken from our dock. The control box was ripped off the tabs holding it in place. We only had it a week and had really enjoyed the beauty of it and I enjoyed sitting and watching all the fish that was drawn to the light. If you have had a light taken from your dock please let us know and if you hear anyone bragging about taking one call the sheriff's office.

Would you mind saying what part of the Lake this happened?

Maybe it was taken by a green monster.

Sorry someone got your light. Thats a good reason not to use a ground fault and leave it turned on all the time.. Where do you live so we will no to be on the look out.

The light was taken from the Cooper Creek area.
DaBurgler, you are absolutely correct when you said leaving it on all night was the wrong thing to do. We have lived here for 22 years and this is the first time we have had anything stolen from our dock so we have been lucky.

I have used cable nails to attach the cable to the dock posts. It requires being able to use a hammer under water and holding your breath for several minutes.

So sorry to hear that. We were planning on getting a green light, but worried about it since we are only weekenders. We got an e-mail from our neighbors in the bay pine area. They had their golf cart stolen and someone tried to sink it in the lake. They live there year round and it was parked by the front door. (GUTSY) Another house was egged. I haven't had a chance to see what we may have had happen, but it sounds like trouble in the neighborhood. We all have to keep a good watch out for our neighbors. Sorry I wasn't there to put a bullet between some eyes for them. They will take their chances if they come back!

It sounds like you have a pattern of criminal activity in the area. I have been on Lake Martin my whole life and really like the idea of an underwater light. Unfortunately I don't own my own waterfront property but I fish a lot of lights at night. I did some looking around for fishing lights and the green monster fishing light seemed to be the best made and easiest to install from what I could tell. The owner of green monster fishing light (Ronnie) also seems to understand what he is talking about on his website. I know that this is the first that I have heard of an underwater light being stolen on Lake Martin. And if they ripped it off the tabs they must have really wanted it!!!!! I would check out the website if you have not already done so (www.thegreenmonsterfishinglight.com) and if you are still worried about theft I would call the number and talk to Ronnie about options he has or can suggest to try to prevent it. He even tells visitors to his website to call with any questions. But if someone wants your particular light bad enough, it will not matter what precautions you take.
