Thanks for sharing. I knew what was coming but it is still brought tears to my eyes. God bless the soldier, sailor, airman or marine who gave a precious life for our country. Thanks to Delta and the Delta employees who formed the Honor Guard. God bless the USA.

Yes, it brought a tear to my eye as well.  I watched it several times.  I get goose bumps when in ATL airport and the crowd cheers on our soldiers on their way over seas.

Most Americans take for granted the freedom we all enjoy.  I try to never forget that the comfortable life we have here in the USA was fought for very hard.  All the bickering and arguing that happens in this country is only possible because of the sacrifices of our forefathers and children.

This makes me ashamed of myself that I chose widgethater as a screen name when I am proud of the Delta Employees. This is being done by the employees, with management approval. This is a wonderful show of appreciation and respect that the Delta employees choose to HONOR these servicepeople in this respectful fashion!!!!

Because I am now on AT&T DSL, I had to watch it in short clips punctuated by long waits for buffering. But it was well worth squandering my whole day's ration of patience.

All of the other employees gathered around, reminded me of the dark-of-night "Angel Flights" departing the CASH to evacuate a soldier who did not survive his wounds. Everyone who could, would like these Delta employees, gather quietly to watch the helicopter ascend straight up into the darkness.  We would drop our salutes when the angel disappeared. "No man hath greater love..."

The Delta Honor Guard appears to be composed of people who have done it before. None of this seemed in the least insincere.

I remember the crowd reaction to troops coming home from Iraq 1 in airports, the applause, cheers, etc.  I thought then about how much our country had changed since Vietnam and how supportive citizens were to soldiers.  I traveled on airlines several times during the sixties and early seventies in uniform, including to and from Vietnam, people either ignored you or turned the other way, thanks to the likes of Jane Fonda, Bill and Hillary, and the other scum lefties of the day.  Thank God real people like the Delta Airlines crews are supportive of what America is supposed to be.  Unfortunately we still have the liberals, lefties, so called progressives, Marxist, and o-BAMA's to remind us of the scum of the 60s and 70s.

I am a disabled Vietnam Vet.  Recall when I discharged the negative changes I saw after 33 months, 5 tours in Nam river rat patrols. The drugs, anti war etc really hurt me and were not the reasons I volunteered. I am first generation of my family to the USA (yes, parents got naturalized, that's a whole other story) and felt it my duty to fight for my country.
Nowdays, when I wear a Navy hat or shirt, I can see and feel the pride as so many people will thank me for my service or as I meet other vets. Not only what a difference, but is actually healing some mental wounds worse that war caused.

Mud, I served beginning in 1967, but because I was in the "Chair Force" I didn't see actual combat. My closest encounter was the 30 hours I spent on Tan Son Nhut AB as a HQ SAC weenie doing an OPSEC survey of the Buffalo Hunter drone operation in SEAsia. So, you know that I know that there are those who serve, and those who SERVE. My hat is off to you, and I am glad your long-coming recognition and healing is coming about. "Nasreddin Hodja"
