discussing GA's response to the Coronavirus.  He is not someone I supported and it is not likely I will support him in 2022 if I am still around.  That being said the reasonable tone and sober words coming from him is a welcome respite from the rantings from the president of the United States.  He urges citizens not to panic but that this is a serious threat and urges all to listen to and follow the recommendations of the medical community regarding the situation.

Please tell me, why do so many on this forum refuse to believe such reasoned advice and instead choose to bet your life on the words of a self serving, arrogant and narcissistic politician who doesn't know Jack about what is going on?  The fact he has an uncle who was educated at MIT does not make him an expert on anything!  Less than 2 weeks ago he assured us only 16 Americans were infected and all but one was recovering and estimated that within days the number would drop to 5.  Today we have had 26 deaths and the infected population is approaching 700.  At this rate we are on target for 5 to 9 thousand by St Patrick's Day! The Italian infection number went from 150 on Feb 24 to 10,000 today with almost 500 dead!  Yes MM, much of the increase can be attributed to more testing, but no matter how you slice it, I think any sane person would admit our ''stable genius'' leader continues to be a bit too optimistic!

Almost had a post that didn't center on Trump but it devolved into TDS.  

I guess people act on the prospects of getting the old fashioned flu or corono virus which is the flu (virus).  Then as I traveled to UAB for an eye appointment listen to some suggesting that China was just trying to weed out the old people.  

my question is what happened to Americans who were self reliant and strong?  Now everything is a conspiracy.  Anyway I was pulling for you but darn you couldn't help yourself.

but for the life of me I cannot quite make out the point (points?) of your post.  Are you complaining about everbody thinking everything is a conspiracy (the way most Trump spporters do)?  Are you saying if we would just get back to good old American self reliance we wouldn't be suseptable to the Coronavirus (a very dangerous theory)?  Are you doing a Trump and claiming the Coronavirus is no more a threat than the flu (WRONG and foolish)?  What the he!! are you trying to say?

I think his point was maybe you will live past 2022  (or possible move to another state by 2022 not sure).  But if people were not such panicky sheeple like yourself then maybe they might live beyond the 200 different things that were supposed to kill some major percentage since Trump took over.

I have a feeling you will make it and have a higher chance of death by natural causes unless you go licking doors at the Atlanta airport.

Its funny all of the predictions that the economy would tank, WWIII, net neutrality etc etc etc under Trump did not come true.  You placed all your eggs in the Russian basket, then the Ukraine hoax - wake up or you are all going to die basket, he has control of the nukes - well I think you get the idea - and now Trump is going to kill us because he is suggesting that it is not "Trumps Chernobyl, Trumps Katrina, Trumps pick a man made or natural disaster of your choice while hoping that this time people die and markets tank so that you can say - Look its all Trumps fault - while in the same breath you would say that the same was not Obama's fault.

I feel sorry for you, depending on your age - maybe 2022 may seem realistic to you and natural causes, but chances are you will survive Wuhan, like you did SARS, bird flu, swine flu, ebola and all the others of the last forever.  None of us can excape from natural causes and old age.

Somehow l don't think that is what Carlson was saying!

l commented about 2022 not because l have any particular fear of the Coronavirus but because I'm freakin 76 years old!  That's not too far  from the point where one stops buying green bananas.

And, please don't feel sorry for me, l am fine.  Feel sorry for yourself for being such an easy touch for self serving political hacks!

and hope we both make it pretty much as long as we want to make it.  However, if you expect me to divert from posts in condemnation of the current pond scum in the White House you might as well quit reading my posts now.  You call it TDS...I call it patriotism!  All the millions who believe sincerely as I do that Trump and his presidency are in fact an existential threat to this nation as a bastion of freedom will understand.  The misguided belief by so many that Donald Trump can be forgiven for his stupid and petty acts as long as he delivers to the hard right are very dangerous.  They are in fact, whether they realize or not, just as much a Cult of Personality that is every bit as dangerous here as in Cuba today and once was in Germany and Soviet Russia!

If being TDS means being fixated on condemnation of The man who is destroying my country then l will proudly wear the badge of TDS as long as the threat to the Republic remains unchecked!

BTW: I think you are a relative new comer to this forum. If you think l have an obsession with Trump, I wish you would go back to the archives and read a random number of posts between 2009 and 2017 about the former occupants of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave!
