Why aren't any of the so-called front runners conservative. Among those three, Nader is the most conservative. Go figure.

I think one reason that none of the front runners is a true conservative is because of the sea change in public opinion. An evangelical-spirited mentally has shifted from Christian evangelism to Liberal, secular evangelism as embodied by the Messiahaobama. I also think it's a blessing to some extent that McCain has been foisted on the Republican party because it forces that voting block to question the person for whom they are voting instead of blindly voting for His conservative credentials, regardless of other obvious and potentially dangerous qualities. I see our choices as not so good: a liberal Republican war monger, a way liberal evangelical hosanna, or a ball-less screecher who is as middle of the road as the war monger, but in sheep's clothing.

You say 'war monger' as if it is a bad thing. Fighting the Islamic radicals on their turf instead of ours is the ONLY thing I agree with McCain on. Has everyone forgotten 911!! And don't even bother with the 'Iraq had nothing to do with 911 crap. He had training camps for terrorist, he PAID the families of suicide bombers, he USED chemical weapons. He admitted that he WANTED the world to continue to think he still had more because he never thought we would come after him, and it was the only way to hold Iran at bay. Now he and his child raping two dirt bag sons are DEAD and the world is a better place for it!!

Not sure what you mean by "socialist" but guess you mean it in a general sense, like, wanting to redistribute wealth. Either way, if you are right, then that huge chunk of Republican voters has no candidate. I think Nader is looking good to a lot of people under the circumstances, but, of course, with our screwed up system he cannot win anyway. His whole point is that we have shot ourselves in the foot by insisting on these two weirdly defined parties, and I agree with that. I'm not a Republican or a Democrat, and I think that is true for many Americans, perhaps a majority of Americans (but certainly not for LTL and Nauti, obviously). I admire the loyalty of many of the members of the Republican party, though. And I think the desire to have something that warrants loyalty is the same desire that is fueling the Messiahbama movement.

For the record, I too LOATHE both parties. I agree that the two party systems sucks for all but those that are elected under the current system. But since the deck is stacked the way it is I will play with the Republicans as opposed to the Dems. I vote for the person and the principles, NOT THE PARTY.
