The RIGHT rmeains so quiet. However the news is good today. From Bloomberg News, "manufacturing shrank less than forecast, and construction spending unexpectedly rose, as overseas demand and the Obama administration’s stimulus helps resuscitate U.S. factories from their worst slump in 28 years.

The factory slump is abating as leaner inventories, smaller cutbacks in business investment and an end to the slump in homebuilding indicate the worst recession since the Great Depression is ending. The federal cash-for-clunkers” program also is boosting demand for cars, analysts said."

Today, the S&P hit 1,000 for the first time since November.

Yes, we have a long way to go. But, positive news should be welcome. Maybe, the doomsday attitude of the RIGHT that hopes Obama will fail is alive and well.

We all want good news and the economy to do well. the right cares more about the country as a whole, the economy and seeing people employed, than who is in office. The fact that the economy is finally showing some signs of life is a welcome change. It is just that Obama's policies have delayed the recovery and the recovery we will get will be much weaker with very little job growth.

So rather than tell everyone how they think (which is really how your twisted mind thinks), why not share your own views on what you think is right and where you think the policies will lead us.

Now that 10% of Spendulus has been spent, can we retract the balance? No need to go even farther into debt.

Absolutely. It was a waste to start with. It obviously was not needed. So since the economy is rebounding on its own, lets give the tax payers a break.

I wish I was as optismistic as both sides in this thread seem to be.

Does that mean the recession is over. Come on, that's a huge stretch, along with all the other minimal increases o-BAMA's boys can dredge up to get our minds off the coming employment numbers. Don't you love the way they say the decreases are still coming in everything, but at a slower rate. Kinda like a pilot that is able to pull the nose up just before the plane crashes.

I agree the economy is all about people's attitudes toward spending, hiring, and investing, but if this turns into a momentary blip upward, we had better look out. There is nothing to support a recovery at this time.

I will say that it is TRENDING in the right direction, it is certainly not close to being over. I just want an end to the spending.

Indeed positive if less negative is positive.

So we might be less bad than before.

AT WHAT COST, and is the cost worth it??

I think McCain has the best description of what has happended and continues to happen: Generational Theft.

In late April, Pravda announced the death of captalism, 'without a whimper from the American people'..

Upturn in the economy is good.

However, comma, can't think of one socialist State that is doing well for the people?? Or maybe I'm just stupid, misinformed and wrong that this Nation is heading towards a socialism??

Help me you guys, I would really feel better about the future of my grand children if you can assure me I'm really that stupid??

I'm a humble guy..

It just occurred to me that his alias "gonefishin" is most likely related to his posts and has nothing to do with enjoying the lake.

If you are not just a secondary alias for GF (it is a known fact that he has posted under several in the past) ... why do you always reply to posts that are directed at him? Also, when no one else replies to his crazy posts, you always seem to fly in to say what a great post he made.

So either you are one in the same, or you guys are MUCH closer than any of us would like to know. Not that there is anything wrong with that ... to each there own. :)

When have you EVER seen someone from what you call the right, bash good news? Please give me one example of someone doing that.

The thing is, conservatives believe in certain liberties, freedoms, principles of government, etc. It is the policies and direction we believe in, not who is in office.

That is why myself and almost everyone else have always said we hope Obama does well, we do not agree with a lot he says, but if it works, it works. But he has totally stepped beyond basic liberal and conservative views ... and is moving this country away from the basic beliefs of our founders and the constitution.

I and others have challenged you and others as to what policies Obama has put in place and the direction he is taking us do you agree with and what result do you think it will have on this country. Yet, no reply.

You keep coming out with these random bashing, but you don't articulate your own beliefs in what YOU see as good and the right direction.

Friday is the employment report. It is expected that the loss of jobs will decline, but we are still losing jobs. the liberals are trying to make that a positive thing, but ask the people that are still out of work or losing their job if it is a good thing.

The best Obama can say is that it will take another 2 years for employment to start growing again. Is this a man that cares or a man that has his own agenda to push through. If he cared, there are plenty of things that can be done to stimulate the economy and get people back to work.

I just saw a report how much individual and business tax revenues will be down to the federal government (business 54% down from last year). All Obama can do is talk higher taxes that further slows growtha nd adds to more unemployment. He does not get that growing the economy and helping businesses be more profitable and successful adds to federal revenues without increasing taxes.

WW- Let's put the blame where it really belongs--CONGRESS--Without all the JERKS that have been elected and returned every election cycle we would not be on the path we are on! They pass all spending bills.
