So we have the two latest examples of coordination between the govt media and their lapdogs in the Democrat party (or vice versa......never can tell who's in charge these days) that have blown up in their faces once again and has further diminished the credibility of the press.  As if they could get any less credible.

The first was the fake Atlantic hit piece based on allegedly four anonymous sources that has been refuted at last count by 21 people who were actually there and went on the record claiming it was a lie.  And this included people like John Bolton and Gen Kelly's chief of staff, neither of whom are Trump fanboys.  I personally think it was made up out of whole cloth and the reason those four sources won't come forward is not because they are afraid of getting mean tweets.....it's because they simply do not exist.  Or if they do exist you can bet they were probably not even there and were lying.....but I am pretty sure they don't exist except in the mind of the hack from the Atlantic.

Now we have the latest Bob Woodward "bombshell" that Trump didn't want people to panic about the Wuhan ChiCom Chinese virus.  And none other than the much esteemed Dr. Fauci has come out in his defense that he did everything they recommended.  So the newest trending hashtag is #TrumpKnew.......he!! yes he knew which is why he tried to stop flights from China and did all the other things early on while Democrats diddled each other with their fake impeachment nonsense.

My feeling is this:  If Trump had come out right away and told the American people that a deadly virus was going to spread all over the country, that many people would die, that they didn't know if they could control it and that there was no cure for it, the population would have panicked even more than they did.   Although I fault him for not wearing a mask, not social distancing and calling the whole thing a hoax, I think he made the right decision in the beginning.  He shut off flights from China, even though democrats called him a racist and xenophobic and appointed Pence to run the government response.  Could it have been better? Yes, but it could also have been a hell of a lot worse.  This is just another situation that is easy to arm chair quarter back about what the Democrats would have done, but the truth is, they would not have handled it any better.

The Atlantic story just makes no sense.  And if that happened, although the people that were there denied it happened, why did these "unnamed sources" wait until weeks before the election to make it known?

Here's the reality of this response versus the Obama/Biden response to the H1N1 pandemic.  60 million Americans were sickened by it.  I remember it well as I had entire offices of employees home with the flu.  They were lucky, pure and simple, that the H1N1 was not as deadly for the elderly or those with co-morbidities......and I mean lucky in capital letters.  Had it been as bad by the time they realized what was happening we would have been on the way to over a million deaths. Their response was abjectly incompetent compared to the response to the Wuhan virus.....by orders of magnitude.

Frankly most of the state and the Federal gov't agency's response was about as good as you can expect given the limitations and obstacles they face in doing anything.  I maintain that other than NY and NJ it was handled pretty well by the gov't.  I saw some time ago all the tasks completed by the Trump admin while the Democrats were busy on impeachment.  They weren't sitting by idly....they were working the problem.

The House passed a 2nd stimulus in May and Moscow Mitch refused to bring it up and try and reach a compromise. Blame the Right where blame is deserved.

Mitch rightfully refused to bring up a bill that asks we the taxpayers to bail out liberal cities and states for their years of mismangement and overspending.  But your second statement is a dog that won't hunt.  There have been multiple attempts at a compromise and Pelosi and company apparently feel their return to power is more important than the good of the American people and sticking with an obviously flawed and unacceptable pork barrel give-away to those cities and states run by incompetent (and more than likely dishonest) liberal politicians will help them attain that goal.
