Subject:   Place for a Wedding Reception?
Date:   9/17/2007 3:03:46 PM

My fiance and I are currently looking at places on Lake Martin to have our wedding. We picked out the Children's Chapel as a place we'd like to have our wedding, but the day we had planned has the reception center there booked.

Before we go ahead and have our wedding on another day (which is most likely fine), I was curious as to if anyone knows any other great places for receptions on the lake. Thanks!

Ignore the 'boys' as this question should be taken very seriously. Have you thought about the Golf Club House at Stillwaters? Looks like a beautiful building with lots of beautiful 'greens' for beautiful pictures.

I would suggest you wait until the water is back to 490. If you are lucky, that won't happen for several decades and by then, perhaps, you will have reconsidered.

I am all female!! =) the wedding was at Church of/in the Pines. I can't remember the exact name, but it is the open pavilion by Children's Harbor. I assume you are talking abouth the beautiful lil church across the street from there. The drive was not bad from there to Willow Point! It was a beautiful wedding and reception.

My sister had a beautiful wedding there also. Her reception was right there at Cecil's (Sinclairs now). Willow Point seems a viable option for the reception. It is only 5-10 minutes away by car or boat.

Yes, well we were looking at the Children's Chapel (the little one up the hill, seats about 125).

And BTW, the name Mordiceius doesn't mean anything, it's just something I made up for a game I play.

Do you have any more information on this Sinclairs place?

Also, about the Willow Point, what is their pricing like?

Thanks for the help everyone.

So my fiance and I were able to make it out to the Children's Chapel last week and we fell in love with it. it's perfect for what we're planning (the church holds about 120 max people) and the Harbor House reception center is only about 200 yards away. what a BEAUTIFUL place.
