does anyone know who I can contact about Tallapoosa Co. cutting brush and trees on "my property". does anyone know the Right of Way? (how many feet off the road belongs to the county/city...county in my case) I ask because when I got to the lake it looked like a tornado had hit my neighborhood, my property especially! thanks!!!!

I believe the right of way on county roads is 40 feet from the center line.

Do you know if it is the County or the power company? The reason I am asking this is because I live in Autauga County and the other day I arrived home to realize that a large oak tree from my property had been cut down. It was dying anyways so that didn't concern me as much as the mess that was left in the yard. I called the power company (only because I live real close by and had noticed cutting trucks on their property). They agreed that it was them and that someone would be by within the next week to clean it all up. By the time I got home the next afternoon it was gone. On a side note, when I first called to complain about it, I was told that they have the right to cut due to the power lines and that every customers signs an agreement when they first establish power to the residence.

The cutting currently going on in my area is being done by Tallapoosa County. We're still waiting to see if they come back by to clean up the mess.

I hope so too. I know that when I called they had someone out the next day, however, other homeowners in my neighborhood seemed to wait close to a week to have theirs removed.
