Look at this video. Looks like Zimmerman really was beat up before he shot the kid. Will be interesting to read the full report after the investigation.

why are you so focused on this? Why is it important to you. As has been pointed out, their are white kids killed in drive by shootings and you do not hear a peep or other outrageous muders.
Yes, this was unfortunate and may or may not have been in self defense ... but sadly it is becoming a liberal outcry and again stiring the race issue. No one should die at the hands of another needlessly, but to turn this in to more than it is for political gain is even more sick.
MSNBC does a whole show on this last night is horrible ... show me where they have done the same if a white kid was shot by a black man. Ot the one lot owner posted about the white hate crime that blacks set a white boy on fire and told him he is getting what he deserves. Is that any less racisit?
The only motivation of MSNBC is to stir the race issue and try to convict a man before a full investigation is done. Fight the law, but sadly it appears he was within the law, right or wrong. Also, the kid was not a little angel, and had been in touble many times before, involved with drugs, etc ... so there appears to be valid reason for suspicion. He started to attack the guy, and the shot before he did. Again ... not saying that is right, but within the law in florida.

The facts don't matter. It is the seriousness of the charge. I get a visceral reaction when I see certain posters. What is a "white Latino" anyway. If I remember correctly only a white (what ever that is) person can be guilty of racist behavior.

Apparently, this particular town has had racial incidents before involving shootings. So there is some distrust of the police in that town.
There was an excellent article in the NYT yesterday or the day before about the general siege mentality of people in Florida living in gated communities. I can understand this to some extent, because of the transient nature of some of the population.
I think what bothers me the most about this case is the stalking aspect and the whether the use of deadly force was warranted. Unfortunately, because of the involvement of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and other black "leaders", we seem to be trying the shooter before the investigation is complete. Given the reputation of the police in that town, I'm glad to see pressure has been brought to bear and other organizations are giving the incident a review; but we must be sure that in our zeal for 'justice" that we don't decide to convict the shooter without a fair hearing. We certainly don't know all the facts.

The shooter appears "white" as opposed to someone bearing the physical characteristics of what people normally think of as "Latino" . One of his parents is "caucasion" and the other parent is "hispanic". I have no idea what his race has to do with the facts of his case. Just another label that some people would slap on as nebulous proof of "something".

As an attorney, explain how Zimmerman was aware that the black kid in a hood had been in trouble many times and was a threat to the community other than racial profiling? Was the kid ever convicted of any crime? No!
According to a records search on George, he was previously arrested for domestic violence, resisting an officer without violence and most shockingly, resisting an officer with violence — a felony charge that surely could have landed him in prison. All three of those arrests, however, were mysteriously closed with no semblance of charges for the Florida resident. So how was someone with a violent past including that of battery against an officer able to carry a 9 mm handgun? Forgot to mention his father is a retired judge in Florida.
Using your logic the kid feared Zimmerman due to his violent past. Mr Attorney, obviously both arguments are flawed. Neither knew the other.
George Zimmerman followed an innocent kid through his neighborhood against the advice of 911 operators. He was obviously following closely enough to draw the attention of the kid.

Don't know where you are getting that Zimmerman's father is a judge in Florida. It turns out that his parents live, and he was brought up in Manassas VA, and his parents still live there. He moved to FL to go into business with his Uncle.

I prefer to allow the investigation proceed and allow the authorities decide if there was a violation of the law and charges that should be filed ... rather than try someone in the media and on emotion.
There is a double standard by you and the media when it is a black person as the victim vs a white person. Very sad ... both are equally bad.
