Alaska governor Sarah Palin has blamed Bush administration policies for the Republican presidential defeat and prayed she would not miss "an open door" for her next political opportunity.

"I think the Republican ticket represented too much of the status quo, too much of what had gone on in these last eight years, that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a 10 trillion-dollar debt in a Republican administration? How have there been blunders with war strategy under a Republican administration?

"If we're talking change, we want to get far away from what it was that the present administration represented and that is to a great degree what the Republican Party at the time had been representing."

Read between the lines " I wish I had been Barack's running mate"!!!!!!!!!!

GF, I think you are making a bit of a stretch in your reading between the lines. Talk about strange bedfellows......pun intended. There is no doubt if you look at the headwinds McCain/Palin faced in this election cycle it is a testament to the weakness of Obama that he only won by what he did. I am pretty sure Hillary would have done much better than Obama.

From watching her interview with Matt Lauer on Today, I think that Sarah Palin has made it plain that she isn't going away. I think it must be very hard for candidates when they lose an election, no matter who they are. These are very self confident people who are used to winning -- and there is no way around it that when you don't win an election, you are failing out in public. I'm sure that both her and John McCain have ruminated a lot about the campaign. It's the natual thing to do.

There is no question in my mind that there isn't much that McCain/Palin could have done to win this election. I think they could have done more to draw a line between the current Administration and what they would do and might have been more productive than what they did. But even if they had run a perfect campaign, I'm not sure they could have beat the Bush baggage.
According to some new poll, Bush has the lowest popularity rating in the history of such a poll being taken. He's lower than Nixon, when he resigned and even lower than Harry Truman. As much as I have disliked this Adminstration, I think it is sad to leave an 8 year term on such a low note.

So does the democrat congress .... so what.

Tell us ... what exactly is the Bush baggage you refer to.

You want to talk about the Bush baggage, but through the elction all the Obama baggage you dismissed as not important. I feel his baggage was much more relavant.

I rarely agree with you ... but i have grown to like you.

Your posts are well thought out and I can tell you put your true heart in to them .... you just are a bit too left and biased in your point of view. I really think there is hope for you .... it is not so much that you are a left wing obama lover but more a Bush hater. I think you will soon see the light with "O".

Having spent some time in some interesting places, I have learned one very basic tenet: We don't know what we don"t know.

All is not what it seems on the surface, and I still hold out the belief that there is a lot more to the rationale for going into Iraq than meets the eye. Maybe the truth will some day come out and Bush will be vindicated. Maybe he won't. But I do admire him for sticking to his beliefs and not cow-towing to something he doesn't believe in just to try to get some stupid poll number up.

True leaders don't lead based on poll numbers. They lead based on what is best for their constituents.

And we everyday citizens don't know what we don't know - and may never know.

"I rarely agree with you ... but i have grown to like you." When the enemy begins to show emotion it is time to BEWARE!!! The meek RIGHT is trying to trap the good HOUNDLADY but I am confident the HOUND will be steadfast and will simply smile at the feeble attempt by W_W to ask forgiveness for his misguided illogical postings. Next, he will invite you to his $1,400,000 home at the Ridge to drink some of his $150 bottle of wine while he tells you he graduated 4th in his Law class at Emory.

For you to accuse someone of being illogical is a preposterous exercise in hypocrisy. You haven't posted a single thread of logic and reason yet - just selected snipes at something someone else said.

I agree with you on that. We don't know what we don't know. We don't get to read the intelligence and make up our own minds. It will probably be another 10 years before someone writes a truly objective book about Iraq or even the Bush presidency.
Everything I have read about Bush and Iraq is that Bush is a true believer. And when you are a true believer you don't care about polls or popularity. I also think he was painted a bad picture that we would be seen as the "redeemers" and that they would shower us with flowers.

I'm sure that some anti-war people will not be happy with the plus up in Afghanistan. I for one, have always thought that we should be fighting there, so I'll be happy with the plus up. We need to take the fight to them.
My next hope is that they will plus up the VA to help with all those disabled veterans. I was watching Morning Joe yesterday and Wesley Clark was on there, obstensively to talk about the veterans, but he spent more time talking about himself and what he knows about the economy. Guess he's still got Presidential aspirations too.

I think what you are finding out that what I told you is true. I've been a life long Republican, but with the Bush Administration I think we're off track. I'm really pretty moderate in my views. I don't know in the end how I will feel about Obama. I certainly don't think he is the "2nd coming". I think it is entirely possible that he may get swallowed up whole by the economy. Or you may be right and he gets swallowed up in the Pelosi/Reid Agenda. Right now, I'm trying to take a wait and see attitude.

One thing that I will miss about Bush is his wife. I think she is so classy and intelligent. She doens't wade into the muck, like Hillary. Every time I've seen her interviewed she has a wonderful sense of humor and a very unobtrusive way of making her views known. I think a lot of women can relate to her. I haven't heard yet if she is planning to run for Congress. She's probably get elected.

Rather than attempt to relive history, I will take the high road and suggest you go back and read my postings rather than throw out statements that are meant to belittle me and all good people who believe in the need for CHANGE. I present factual data with resource backups but apparantly they are overlooked in the zeal to reference my postings as hyypocritical. It is time for all good people to rise to the occassion and support our Presiden Elect Obama. While the RIGHT may be the loyal opposition, I respect your opinions while not agreeing with them. For we are One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!!!!

"It is time for all good people to rise to the occassion and support our Presiden Elect Obama"

You mean like the Democrats supported President Bush?

And yes, if you will go back through the posts you will see that I have challenged you multiple times to respond to or refute statements presented by others as fact, and you have yet to do so.

I remain unconvinced.

I will not actively work against President-elect Obama, but I'm not going to drink the kool-ade either. I don't think you left any for anyone else.
