Found this on Craigs List. It is obviuos to me that the ad was placed by a builder and not a 'family' as the ad would have you believe. Nothing wrong with this tactic I guess, but can anybody figure out why I have this opinion?

LTL, is this a trick question?

Nope. Not at all. Check out the ad. See if you can spot the deceptions.

It looks like a nice ad to me. Builders have families too.

OK, I refuse to look at the ad anylonger. It may give the hint that it is a long time family home, but new. Other than that, I just don't see it. Do tell LTL.

I am not sure that I think that this is a deceptive ad but it sure is creative relative to some the photos. This house is very near mine...a lease lot with less than admirable lake water at the end of a cove with shallow water. Typical of the lease lots that were made available near our area. Three spec homes were built on lease lots and all are still for sell. Been so for a while.

All of the so called 'family pics' and pic at the Rock are taken from the Lake Martin.com website!!

Shame on you guys for not cruising the picture pages more often....lol.

Bruce works hard to keep those pages there. You guys should cruise them, and then submit some of your own.

Good eye LTL, what is funny to me if most of the pictures are given to the Webmaster with permission from the owner. Just because a picture is on the internet does NOT mean that is it open to be used by anybody. You still have to have the owners (photographers) permission or you are infringing on copyright rules. Which can carry a hefty fine. So I hope if they "borrowed" these pictures they asked for permission first or they just might be giving part of the profits from that home away to some starving photographer... he he he

You are right ALSCN. I didn't go there though for fear of 'stirring the puddin' charges.....lol.

My thing is why not just sell the house on it's merits rather than trying to appeal to false emotions. I have been is sales all my life and understand that folks buy on emotion more than anything else. But why decieve? Take your own family down there and take some pics if that is the image you are trying to convey. Don't steal other folks memories and use them for profit. I hope the owners of the photos see this thread.

Ever notice the dumb picture they use in the Eagles Point ads? The picture has a young dad in a rowboat with his roughly 4 year old son. There is a stupid idea. Buy a house on a big water location and take a kid out in a rowboat with no life jacket on.

People are just out to make an easy buck. So they don't think about what they are stealing from someone else.

Even though I shouldn't jump the gun there, maybe the person selling the house took the pictures... maybe just maybe... it could happen.

Seems to me the big deception is not disclosing that this is a lease lot. Since you're a buying house only the square foot asking price appears steep.

Beat me to it vatech. Surely they will not hide that from an unassuming buyer.

Maybe... I suspect the photos of the house were taken by the owners. The photo from the top of the rock (with the guy in red trunks) was taken by me. Not the first time I've had photo theft. The Bank of Dadeville used my photo without permission a few years ago. It's not difficult to walk up the back side of Acapulco Island. I suppose I could threaten legal action, but I'm not the type of guy to send lawyers after folks. It's likely they have not considered copyright issues.

The kids with the fish and the kids with the dog came form your viewer submitted site also. At least you have the satisfaction of knowing folks like your work well enough to steal it...lol.

Pictures of my flag have turned up in print, web pages, and tv commercials for a local real estate agent.
