Looks like we blew through 480 last night and might pass 481 today. As OSMS noted, watch your boats and floating docks. The chains on my floater got hung up a couple of weeks ago and I almost had a disaster on my hands. Also got a call from my neighbor letting me know my pontoon was floating. The kind of problems I like to have......

with more rain to come! There are all kinds of things floating around, but it's great to see anything floating (including my floating dock).
|
Looks like you may break even on that bad investment after all....won't be long and you'll be snoozing under pontoons again!

The watershed has been hammered the last few days. I feel as good about this situation as I have in a long time. I bet the realtor's phones will start ringing again.

NO WAY!!!! This is just an anomily. It won't rain like this again for decades. APCO will use ALL of this water to generate with. When the rain stops it will start going away again. APCO has misnmanaged the water. APCO officials all live on Harris lake, that is why it got filled first. They will send our water (upstream) to Logan Martin. Noboby downstream of Martin matters. Wonder how long it will take them to drain it this year? COE and FERC don't matter, APCO will give our water to the folks down south before the summer is over.
I just wanted to throw a little negativity out there...lol. The board has been so full of it for the last year, I was afraid it might blow some curcuits and cause an internet crash....lol.
It is great though. I sat on the porch and watched the water flow in like I haven't done in a couple of years. Seems my predictions for some rapid rises are coming true also. Any of us fortunate to live hre full time should take the time to go to the water and check our neighbors toys for them.

Todays current schedule is for Harris to generate power from 4am to midnight. 20 hours!!--4 of those hours are with two wheels running. The weekend looks good too. For those who don't have it, you can use the link below to monitor flows.

Martin had 2 gates open between 9 and 9:30 this morning. I hope they do not do a lot of that. I guess they have to keep Yates and Thurlow up.

Brang it on! I just wonder what will happen with all that grass that grew in our slough, will it cause problems with the boats? Props getting tangled etc.? I'm just looking forward to the day I look out my window and see water and not grass! Whoever is doing the rain dance, don't stop!!!

Similar map, for the pessimists out there, showing that most of the lake area did not get its fair share.

Power company website shows two scheduled this morning from 9 to 10. When I saw the website a little after 9:30 this morning it showed 0 turbine flow, consistent with what the above poster said about it being 9 to 9:30. Very odd, but short lived.

They did the same thing about a week ago for an hour.
|
Yes, it is great..... and I'm with you on those predictions. It has been a joy to see the lake noticeably higher every time I look at it.
|
I think the powers that be finally decided that sending the water to Logan Martin was a waste of time; at least that is the rumor I heard.
