They have Ladies Night Out without cover charge or free drinks or Senior discounts so what's the big deal with Food Stamp Night Out. The card can't be used for drinks.... ladies and men can enjoy, black and white over 21.Looks to me like a winning marketing program that should spread across the nation and you heard it first on the Forum from Wixie Po.

I have an issue with your assumption. I expect most cardholders just go for the friendship and dancing. Not everyone who goes to a club drinks.As to food stamps, I am somewhat confused by your statement. I always considered food stamps as an entitlement for those who have fallen on hard times. Guess you are above that....good for you.

I agree this would be a really inappropriate use of food stamps, but this is just a promotional gimmick put together by a bar owner... not a government program in any way. Criticizing the food stamp program because of this is like assaulting the Defense Department because T-shirt makers produced patriotic T's during the Gulf War....
Another example of a market-based economic system at work....... but like so many money-making gimmicks these days, it kinda makes you sick.

Food Stamps are welfare, always have been, always will be. Fits right in there with SSI, Medicaid, Welfare, free cell phones and all the other guvment giveaway programs those of your ilk support and/or live off of. You really are unbelievably out of touch if you think welfare Demwits go to a bar and just visit and dance. I hope you are just jerking my chain, and are not that idealistically stupid.

You touched a raw nerver. My free phone is great. It enables me to keep in touch with my broker and make trades without a phone bill. That's not welfare that's an entitlement. Guess that is where you and I see things differently.
