Recently this forum had numerous posts expressing correct and justified outrage over an incident where a white kid was beaten up by black kids on a school bus. Last week a white man beat and racially berated a black woman US army reservist in front of her 7 year old daughter at a GA restaurant. Let me be the first on this forum to express outrage at this disgusting and un-American incident.

Any violence against another person is something to be abhorred. I think you missed the point everyone was making and that is the double standard of the left and the media when it comes to black on white violence versus white on black. The latter will surely garner wall to wall coverage and the former is relegated to page 33 on the NY Times. I guess we need to be more explicit when we point out the hypocrisy and double standard of the left......

Archie: You don't understand that we all got your feckless attempt to try to point out something. The problem is that the left and the government media seem to hold their outrage and immense coverage for only one kind of racially motivated violence while the rest of us detest all forms and don't place some special emphasis on racial motivation versus any other motivation. We see them all as evil and all equally wrong and this was just an opportunity to point out the hypocrisy. I guess I did have to explain myself after all...

-I'm not sure we all understand what went on in that bus.
-Fights like the one I saw in that video happen everyday on school buses and didn't start after Obama became president. Some are white-on-black, some black-on-white, some white-on-white, some black-on-black. Some fights may be racially motivated, ...but some not, ....but most are bullies who think they run the bus and determine who sits where. I'm thinking the last is what happened in this video.
-The reports I read, especially from one of the kids who tried to stop the fight, seems to relate to the bully issue. The black kid had his bag on the seat and didn't want anyone sitting there; the white kid wanted to sit there. Combustion!
-Should this fight even be reported by the media? --not in my book, unless the reporter is doing a piece on school bus safety, bullies, etc.

Yankee, our point exactly. What made this news was the unequal treatment by the media. Imagine a busload of white kids with a white bully beating the crap out of the lone black kid with the white kids cheering them on. It would get wall to wall 24/7 coverage and would have provided yet more evidence of a white, racist America that only opposes the Messiah because of the color of his skin. Reverse the scenario and it barely merits mention by the government media.

I was intentionally less than completely forthcoming in my reply to MM. I did post to express my outrage...but I also was interested in seeing if the bias so many of you see in the mainstream media might also exist among some members of this forum. Your responses dwelling almost completely on rehashing the already discussed "media bias" in the black on white violence rather than expressing concern and outrage with the white on black violence which I raised in my post confirms my expectation and fear. :-( Bias is bias and hypocrisy is hypocrisy no matter the circumstances, no matter the participants!

-since I'm the only other commenter, I guess your comments are directed at me.
-You use the terms "bias" and "hypocrisy" quite loosely in their literal sense, and when you apply them to me you are just plain wrong.
-If you read my post , it should be clear that I recognize the existence of all race-on-race crimes, but don't believe that all , or even in the most part, are racially motivated. Most of these people are just criminals. The bus incident was a well known incident, and from my perspective mainly a bullying incident among teenagers with too much testosterone and too little brains.
-NOw reference your example of what you called white-on-black racially motivated assault , it was not a well-known incident (I never heard of it) and you failed to provide any info on it in order to evaluate it. I usualloy do not jump at incidents and call them racially motivated one way or the other unless I know the facts. Now, don't get me started on facts and liberals.....
-One last point reference your accusation of bias and hypocrisy. I find both the extreme right and most of teh left to have those failings deeply ingrained. I have been involved in civil rights activities for 40 years. It is my assessment that the majority of die-hard democrats and liberals consistently demonstrate bias and hypocrisy. For forty years they have pushed programs that do nothing but destroy minority societies, families, and individuals. Look to the inner cities where liberal-conceived programs run wild and see the results. Instead of the path of teaching "how to fish" they pave the path of giving them fish", ...and as one should expect, the results stink!!!!

I was not specifically referring to you and wish I had specifically exempted you because, as is more often than not the case, both your posts were logical and well directed. I was referring to MM's comments and the LACK of comments from the usual forum suspects.
To inform you and other readers, the event to which I referred occured a week or so ago at a Cracker Barrel in Clayton County Georgia (south of Atlanta). The assault is on the restaurant's security tape but has been released only to the county prosecutor and has not made it to the internet. Witnesses say the man was leaving the building he almost hit the black female reservist's 7 year old daughter with the door. She asked the man to please be careful. His response was to begin shouting racial epithets at her and the girl and to strike her with his fists while continuing to yell at her. She was beaten to the ground and some reports have her being kicked. I believe I'm correct in saying she was briefly hospitalized. He has been arrested. I'm not sure whether it was immediately after the assult or later. The County Attorney has charged him with assult and terroristic threats. The US Attorney is also considering charges. This incident has received a good bit of local coverage but not widespread attention nationally. I think CNN has interviewed the woman. When the local TV stations have tried to speak to the accused's friends and relatives they received no comment and barely veiled threats. Interestingly Cracker Barrel has banned the accused from all their sites. I agree with you the bus assult was largely testostorone on parade with some racial overtones. I think the Cracker Barrel event was nothing less than racial hatred.

-Thanks for your info on the Cracker Barrel incident. Truely sad on so many levels: racial slurs, man-on-woman violence, front of kids, etc.
-Did anyone put a stop to it. We all probably wonder what we would do if we witnessed such a situation.
-PS: be nice to MM and me; without conservatives and independents, there wouldn't be any liberals :)

I had thought your original post was yet another attempt to cast us conservatives as a bunch of redneck racists who don't seem to care about white on black violence but rather make a big deal when it is reversed. I told you already that we abhor all racially, non-racially or whatever motivated violence. The only reason we pointed out the other story and made a big deal out of it was to make a point about the feckless government media and their obvious double standard.
What is so hard about this? What do you want us to do? Wail, gnash our teeth and beat our breasts about this?!?! Will that satisfy you?
OK, I am outraged at this obvious racially motivated violence and I hope they find that bastard white guy and shoot him on the spot after they torture him and make him grovel and beg for his miserable, misbegotten life!!! There, are you happy? Does that make us any more likable by our favorite liberal? I know I feel so much better at having expressed my indignation towards this evil moron. He probably grew up in North Georgia and hung around with the type of folks you seem to know so well.
