What is the BEST way to reach ya'll in case of an emergency? When a friend tried to call 911, she got shuffled back and forth to Elmore and Tallapoosa police departments. Thanks for all you do.

Probably calling the Alex City Trooper post at 256 234-2601. We are dispatched primarily through the trooper posts. Dialing 911 is a good way for emergencies but, as you said, you may not connect where you think you should because of the way the lake is divided between three counties.

On a side note, should anyone have to call a dispatcher, often the dispatcher has little or no idea about finding a place by water. Give directions as detailed as possible.
