I sure do wish we could retain some of this runoff.

They are dumping lots of water, hope they have the turbins running! Alabama river was moving very swift this morning. Lots of trees floating and lots of docks under water...

The variance request was submitted by APCo to FERC around December 28 and then FERC has a 30 day comment period.

So in theory the lake cannot be plugged till at the earliest Jan 29th or so.

Unfortunate based on the amount of rain the basin received this week.

Didn't the variance request a "plug date" of Jan 15th. That being the case these rains would have had virtually no effect on our level. The good new is that the aquifers are being refilled so when we do plug there will be more run off to us up with.

Earlier plug date, plus reduced downstream requirements if I remember correctly.

Unless the long range rainfall forecasts are pretty bleak, I would think that the possibility of receiving the variance is getting smaller.
