Just watched Atlanta news. Lake Lanier and Lake Alatoona are down 8 and 7 feet respectively. North Georgia lakes Hartwell and others all down about 5 feet. I guess 2 and a half feet does not look so bad in retrospect!

Yea...Smith Lake is down almost 11 feet. Makes for some sharp inclines for some of the walkways to the piers.

I heard someone say that Lake Martin is only dropping 5 feet this year. Something to do with fishing. Is this true?

I doubt it. I don't know for sure but in all of my born days I don't remember the lake not going down the 9 - 11+ feet in the winter.

My dad was just here for a few days visiting from N. Ga. His first words when he saw the lake was how HIGH it was! He said you can just about walk across Alatoona And Lanier's way down.
