Is why we will get attacked again by terrorists: Read this article...this is just downright scary, but he's "the chosen one" and will lead our country. God help us all.

Do you think the Clintons really expect BHO to be a one term Prez 'cause of the likely fallout from some of the naive policies he is pursuing...............and that's why she was willing to move over to SOS and be in a holding pattern for 2012?( Ignore the cynicism, it happens late in the evening when it's combined with a touch of rum...................)

Regardless, I think we will be attacked again by terrorists. I don't know that they will pull off anything as spectacular as 9/11 again, but I think it is just a matter of time before they manage a dirty bomb or a small biological weapon. It doesn't have to be big to cause people to panic.

It would really be a great HELP if the new president would continue PRESIDENT Bush's funding for such intelligence groups versus throwing a champagne and cocktail "get to know you brunch".
Don't get me started................
Oh, we bought a new boat. Figured we'd better spend our money we earned on ourselves before BHO takes it.

I agree that another attack is likely with either Obama or McCain but I do think the mere question of how Obama will react could embolden them versus knowing that McCain would react as vigorously or more vigorously than even Bush. That very potential is one of the costs of our recent electoral choices and one of the reasons I supported McCain. The enemy knows how he will respond. They have reason to wonder about Obama (based on his ideology, his pronouncements on the war in Iraq and lack of any experience to the contrary) and if the upside is sufficient they might be more willing to take the chance. Either way, in their minds they have to believe they are better off with Obama's response than with McCain's.

I still find it amazing that we were not attacked for seven years after 9/11 and wish liberals would get beyond their BDS and give Bush some credit. They are certainly willing to blame him for every ill in the world but not a word on something positive.

This was very good. And what was most interesting is that it was written by a law professor at Berkely which is know to be a very liberal university.

I think Bush does deserve the credit for his response to 9/11, and for putting the wheels in motion to tighten security and giving additional resources to the intelligence community that were badly needed.

Where I think Bush fell down was allowing himself to be persuaded to have the little fling in Iraq, which diverted forces and attention away from where the bad guys really were (and still are). And I think that his judgement in supporting Pakistan to the extent they placed restrictions on the tribal areas was poor. (Pakistan has never been a friend to the US, IMHO, they just like to use us when it's convenient). I think he took very bad advice from the Defense and State establishment (Rumsfeld didn't like Afghanistan for the lack of hard targets; and Wolfowitz and Feith (among others) had their own agenda. I think Powell should have tried harder to convince him that IRAQ was a bad idea.

While I don't agree that Iraq was the folly many do it is arguable that it was ill advised. He certainly paid a huge political price for taking that step.

I think time will tell with Iraq. It's possible that history will show that it was a good move and those of us naysayers will be eating crow. I'm probably overly negative about Iraq because I worked for Wolfowitz and Feith and had little respect for them and their "let's try an experiment" approach to world order. But, I'll be the first to admit, we don't know what we don't know. And a lot of intelligence can be read several different ways. Look at all the reporting on the "foreigners" taking flying lessons, and no one paid attention to that until it was hindsight.
