The Dixie Sailing Club has relocated and alot of trees have been taken down.  Now we need to get rid of them.  Is there anyone locally that rents a commercial wood chipper?

David Easterwood at (256) 329-8068 did a fine job for me several years ago.  Even came back to finish one really big one that go so buried in the rubble we couldn't tell exactly how deep he was.  Reasonable price also.

If you just want to rent the machine check RSC.  I'm sure they have one but they are a bugger of a machine to handle IMHO.  After going to the rental store to get one I decided to hire it out.  That's when I found David.  Glad I did.  An inexperienced operator could get in serious trouble very quickly.

plus, if you do it yourself, there's the matter of wood chip removal. If you get someone to quote you a price for the job, if you want them removed, be sure to specify. I have a neighbor that had some trees cut down, but not removed. He decided to rent a chipper and chip them all up. Mistake. It would've been easier to remove them in log form. The tons of piles of chips are still there even after we volunteered two days and worked to help him shovel and remove. IMO the chip removal is 2/3 of the job.
