Has anyone played Stillwaters recently? What's the condition of the course?

I played it a couple of weeks ago. I would not recommend playing it right now. The greens were not overseeded this winter so it is like putting on dead weeds. Fairways are just dead grass.

I hope this is just a winter thing and it will be back into shape this spring/summer ish!!

A lot of courses in this area have stopped overseeding. Heck, even the Montgomery Country Club has browns instead of greens. But it is well manicured bermuda, no weeds allowed.

IDEA: maybe someone or someones can organize a Forum Golf Tournament at Stillwaters this spring. I know they would love the business. If there's good interrest, we might could make it a charitable event. What we need is a type A organizer.

I would not recommend....I played for years and every year it has fallen further and further into disrepair. Hate to say but it really has become a sad product. Too bad because the layout is interesting but the greens are way old and ratty, the sand traps are never raked or maintained and the edges are grown over. Hopefully somene will take over and renovate....great potential if right owner takes over. Do yourself a favor andtake the ride to RTJ in opelika

I was thinking about a Forum gathering of some sort the other day...I know i am new to the forum, but would like to get to know more people in the area besides my couple neighbors.
