I tried getting my pontoon boat out this weekend. When trying to crank, the alarm sound came on warning me of low 2 cycle oil. I put in about a quart only to see the oil dripping out into the lake. The motor turned over and I cranked it for about 10 seconds, but it smoked a lot, so I just cut it off. This past winter was not too cold and I made sure all the water drained out when putting it up for the winter. Has anyone ever heard of this? I am hoping it is a seal or something concerning the oil injection. Does anyone know how to get it touch with a good honest mechanic to come out to my boat house and take a look? Please help! Thank you.

I will gladely help you, but I would need the boat.  We are located in Dadeville at Lake Martin.  I'm not sure just how far away you are.  I have several customers on your lake, and I don't know who to send you to.  If you wanna come here I will surely take care of you.

If there is any way you can take it to Steve's shop, do it. You will find it was well worth the trip.

I had a motor that did that once it was about a 1995 Mercury.   I cut the wire going to the buzzer and started mixing the oil with the gas.   It worked fine.   I have done the same thing with several jetskis.  Sometimes you have to pinch a hose or bolt a blocking plate on but only if the motor acts like it has a carb problem.
