Any bubble beginning to burst? Hot existing properties? Anything new coming up? Anybody know anything? I think I heard that all the lots are sold in The Preserve at Stoney Ridge.

Well, Sandy Creek is so FAR by boat to things like Chimney Rock, Chuck's, the restaurants at Blue Creek, etc. We decided to stay put in Blue Creek. And the properties I have been looking at on this forum are STILL for sale, so that's why I was wondering if location, location, location, is still the norm...even on the lake. Depends on what you want, I guess, right? Peace and quiet or near some activities and people. Well, just an observation....still for sale. Maybe something is wrong with the properties???? Overpriced perhaps? You think others, like me, might think so? $150,000+ for a 3rd bedroom and bath? Is it worth it to move up to 3 or just stay put with 2 bed/2 bath? We don't owe a thing....don't want to. Maybe some day we'll move.....

I also think the Blue Creek (and Cooper Creek) areas are the best. There are some parts of the lake that are too isolated for me. You are lucky to have something in Blue Creek. Things do seem a little pricey until you realize how much it costs to buy anything on Lake Burton, Lanier or Oconee. I think we have been discovered.

I am a relative newbie, myself...4 1/2 years...although my Auburn husband and Alabama native has been coming down for years. That's how he got this Georgia gal involved. We moved from Conyers to Newnan to get closer to the lake and hope to retire there one day in the not so far off future....

And yes, we do feel lucky to have found something in Blue Creek, because we didn't know know what the HE!! we were doing...we came over to look at property from an ad in Southern Living about Still Waters and found our place somewhere else. Since it had been a couple of decades when he really knew the lake, we were going into this blind buying in a certain area. It was just the Atlanta side, I guess. So, we'll stay put.

It pays to do the right thing instead of doing things right.....
