doesn't look like Lake Lanier will have any water in it after this year... The Supreme Court has decided not to hear the case that was coming before it. It also looks like ya'll won't be getting anymore water from Georgia either..... That Lnier will be gone to all of those lawn watering Atlantians....is a crying shame!!
He// was I thinking?!?!?!?!? I knew/know better... I guess I let my emotions get the best of me.... Well That wasn't the only mistake I made yesterday (I'm sure of that!)
You aren't really that far off the mark Crappy. Given free rein Georgia will dam the Tallapoosa &/or LIittle Tallapoosa rivers as a reservoir for Atlanta drinking water. They have been 'talking' about it since the 80's. This decision may embolden them to the point of proceeding with their desire to do so.
IMHO Atlanta/Georgia should build a pipeline to the coast and invest in a desalinization plant. It is the only feasible way to satisfy Atlanta's thirst without dehydrating the rest of us.
what I think they will probably do. And that is to sue Tennessee again (now that they probably feel like they can do whatever they want in the name of drinking water) for rights to the Tennessee River near Nickajack.
