419,000 new claims for welfare-meanwhile businesses cutting open hours, closing, begging for help; I was in Naples Fl and Orange beach recently - 50% of fast food joints shuttered, no help; billboards everywhere offering $300-$500 start to work bonuses--welfare state is alive & healthy

Hopefully the new claims are from those dimokraps who just got cut off from Biden’s $300/weekly unemployment gift.  “OMG, MY FREE MONEY IS GONE….WHAT DO I DO….I JUST CAN’T GO BACK TO WORK.  GUESS WELFARE WILL HAVE TO DO’”

What floors me is the number of people just quitting work.  They seem to feel the need at age 40, to go looking for a new career.  No matter how much Biden says otherwise, the economy is hosed, people are not going to work as long as they are getting "free" money, even if it means they lower their previous standard of living.  We have a new generation of welfare recipients.  I'm sure the child tax credit monthly checks aren't helping convince anyone to return to work.

I think the fast food will survive.  Companies and franchise owners will be force to get automated faster - what I mean is customers doing their own ordering and paying, so the only real human jobs will do the cooking and packaging.

We'll see more self checkouts in retail.

And the middle class will foot the bill for those that don't want to work. It used to be an embarassment for most people to be on welfare, but that is no longer the case.

since FL has cut off the enhanced unemployment payments.  Maybe these folks need to emulate the NY pizza chain where the owner has set his own minimum pay rate at $15.00 per hour and is now getting 3 applications for every position, opening 12 new stores, has raised prices an average of 50 cents per pie and has seen his business soar!!  Its called supply and demand and was once the foundation of consumer private enterprise.

Can we speed up the automation of the cooks and the people who hand it out through the drive through?  80% of the time they can not get the order right.

Wow did he really set his OWN rates to 15$ per hour, or was he forced to by NY?

https://dol.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2021/03/p716.pdf

So if everyone is offering $15 per hour why is he getting so many applications where others are having problems?

Can you post us a link to the article that says he set his own rate and is getting 3 applications per position( how many positions did he have open to start with?)  and opened 12 new stores at only an extra .50$ per pie.

I would love to read that article.  I know we just had a discussion where you said you post links all the time, so can you on this one? Duck Duck Go and Google are having a hard time finding it, you didnt mention the store name so that could be why, but based on searching for pizza NY 3 applications etc nothing applicable could be found to match your claims and set his OWN minimum pay just does not seem to turn up what you claim, but I did find where NY is forced it for restaurants in the LINK above - the date for the rest of the fast food in NY apparently went up statewide on 7/1/2021.  And yes I did see where it  that rate change only applies to chain stores and not the one off mom and pop stores, so maybe he had to because the chain stores were snapping up his employees.  Since you indciate he opened 12 new stores - wonder how many he had to start with and if now he is in that 30+ where he has to by state mandate.

What makes you think they need humans to cook?  That process can me easily automated also.  IF they did you might occasionally get a product that actually looks like the propaganda err, I mean advertising pictures.

I was actually wondering about that - automated cooking processes.  I'm sure the technology exists, not sure how expensive it is to install.

but if l can find a link l will pass it along.  He currently has under 30 stores so does not fall under the $14.50/hr requirement.

Meanwhile, give this some thought.  This is not the first time we have faced a labor crunch.  In a private enterprise true supply and demand economy like we had in much of the country in the 40's -80's, the natural solution for too many jobs chasing too few employees the was to raise compensation.  It still works if greed and inertia gets out of the way.

BTW:  I am pretty sure he is not using the money paid for his pizzas to directly finance his physical expansion.  There are lots of banks in NY!

One was about a NY business owner who increased his starting salary to $15/hr and found he had 3 applications a day compared with 1 per week before.  This was over a month ago and l cannot find anything on it.  The Pizza chain store was actually about an owner in DC, not NY and the pay was $16/hr instead of $15/hr.  Check out ''Business Insider...Pizza chain owner Michael Lastoria pays $16/hr''. Also check out ''Yahoonews.com....July 11''

Soooooo here go search for this and still no links.  yup you always post those links(even when directly requested)

Funny how that works - you confused multiple stories into one, still do not post links - but hey at least you more info in for others to go hunt for to find the articles you will not link to.

So I call chit on your "I post links"

I sent the post last night on my phone.  Being a proud digital Neanderthal do not know how to download a direct link on my phone.  You are the one who said you would like to read the article...well I posted more than enough info for you to easily find the relevant article so if you are really interested go find it rather than coming across like a spoiled lazy whiner.

Its really is kind of difficult to find the article you invented from multiple different ones, which did not reference all of your "facts"

Yes I did search those and did find some articles, still looking for the only raised .50 per pie, business is booming and several other of your "facts" that were missing from the articles you referenced.

Its seems to be hard for you to backup your claims, I am not suprised that you could not.  I was just asking you to show your "facts" - which you failed to do., which was not a suprise to me at all, and now you are claiming to just be tech-challanged at that one time on your phone and that is the reason you failed to handle a simple request while blaming others for your failings.

Maybe it is you who missed your mensa and Q meetings - would explain why you had to use your phone, and the fact that your facts were a jumbled mess from multiple places.

I met a Mensa person who was hired where I worked - while I am sure he was really smart on somethings, there was a discussion among his peers about his footwear having velcro straps, apparently because he could not figure out how to tie shoes, which he did not have any problem admitting, to say I was not impressed by his belonging to the group would be an understatement.

and if ou were unable to find the article neither do you.  I guess you do enjoy the Q-anon meetings though, tell Shorty, Lifer and WIX that Architect says hey.

Funny I found an article that had some of the information - but as you said you confused multiple articles and jammed it all together, then only gave info about a few parts of the article but nothing about the rest  - and you blame me for not being able to find it??? you would fit right in with the guy with velcro shoes.

The 2nd and larger point which you seemed to have missed is that you "Often post links" which I call BS on.  You almost never backup your claims, and get pissy when someone calls you out on your lies, which explains how often you love to attack those who ask you as I read recently on here in a post I think by you of all people "chit or get off the pot"???
