You know, he's right, for some readon all caps are pretty annoying to look at but I swear I don't know why... any psychologists out there?
I love Jam sessions,sounds great -any bluegrass to be had or can you tell the difference? AND :-), Why isn't there any bluegrass around -haven't seen any. Not mountainous enough????

RR, I only have a minor in Psychology with my undergraduate degree, and they didn't teach me anything about ALL CAPS. That must come with the Doctorate degree program.
Hey, Either tune your TV (or tape it one) to TBS tomorrow night. They are showing "O Brother Where Are Thou". Now there is some Blue Grass for you, but I bet you have either already seen it or have the sound track or both.
Sounds like you Lake folks are going to have some nice weather this weekend.

2-topics in 1-thread. Okay, here's the CAPS issue.
ALL CAPS IS THE USUAL E-MAIL DESIGNATION THAT THE SENDER IS YELLING AT YOU. USUALLY THEY ARE PISSED-OFF OR TRYING TO MAKE A VERY STRONG STATEMENT, SOMETIMES BOTH. A FEW TIMES, THERE IS NO INTENT BEHIND THE ALL-CAPS MESSAGE, JUST SOMEONE FORGOT TO TURN-OFF CAPS-LOCK. AS YOU CAN SEE & READ, HOWEVER, ITS VERY ANNOYING AND SOMEWHAT OFFENSIVE.
In Business, gotta be extremely careful on caps. Plays on the emotions, skewing decisions from purely objective facts to inclusion of subjective emotions. Sometimes, means the difference between getting booted, that PROMOTION, or putting someone in their place.

O.K......was trying to stay out of this one..but here goes...yes, it was that dern etiquette e-mail that made the rounds some time ago that is the cause for so much conflict on forums....people fall for that crap like it is the gospel...everyone having read the one about all caps being rude and a form of shouting formed this idea in their head and, consequently, assaults anyone who happens to have their caps lock on while posting.....it's only offensive if you think it is...and most did not think it offensive until they read that piece from some egomaniac who wanted to set the rules of etiquette for internet interaction.......I say, if someone prefers to post in all caps, let them.....is it REALLY a hardship on the
reader? I prefer saving all caps for EMPHASIS but, HEY, that's just me!
LIVE AND LET LIVE is my motto....remember, we cannot (nor should we) all be alike! Have a nice ALL CAPS, no caps, HaLf AnD hAlF, Lake Martin DAY!!!!!!!!

To me, trying to read all-caps is annoying. And, I'm no fan of the all-lowercase postings, either. Plus, some of the abbreviations are too cutesy for my tastes, and the unintentional misspellings are embarassing. Whatever happened to being literate?

....and since the early days of the internet and subsequent chat rooms, all caps is considered shouting (whether for joy or for anger). It was an unwritten rule before the supposed email
I wasn't offended, just politely asked if he could change his caps.
He politely obliged.

Oh Yeah! I have the soundtrack. Love Alison Krauss too - saw her at the Fox in Atlanta 5-6 years ago - think she was a teenager then.
Actually I like all kinds of music - got it from my dad who had his own orchestra radio show on WSB in the 30's...
