After watching the hearing tonight, I fail to understand how anyone who took an oath when they entered the military to support and defend the Constitution can support Trump.

He took an oath...  "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

After his actions or lack thereof on January 6th, he is guilty of derelict of duty.

The home he deserves....

“Hearsay is a statement that is made by a person outside the courtroom and, therefore, not subject to being questioned or challenged through cross-examination by the accused or his lawyer.” ^(a)

The House January 6^th Hearing featured hearsay.

“…the problem that the defense [attorney] really faces is that he can’t cross-examine witness.” ^(a)

No opportunity was afforded by the panel of the House January 6^th Hearing, for anyone representing the former president (Trump) to cross examine the hearsay testimony OR the actual witness.

“Why is cross-examination so important? Because the jury is then able to carefully observe the demeanor of the witness as his version of the facts is being challenged through a rigorous cross-examination. The jury is better able to judge whether the witness is lying (which witnesses do sometimes) or telling the truth. As the U.S. Supreme Court put it Pointer v. Texas (1965)”. ^(a)

“It cannot seriously be doubted… that the right of cross-examination is included in the right of an accused in a criminal case to confront the witnesses against him. Because this is a public, kangaroo, special hearing - it is a political/propaganda attempt to co-opt the public into being a jury and rendering the politically preferred outcome at the polls. There was no cross examination of the witnesses.

“The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees every litigant the right “to present his case and have its merits fairly judged.” -and – “Consistent with the provisions of this part, a participant has the right to present such evidence, including rebuttal evidence, to make such objections and arguments, and to conduct such cross-examination, as may be necessary to assure true and full disclosure of the facts.” ^(b)

No opportunity was afforded, by the panel of the House January 6^th Hearing, for anyone representing the former president (Trump) to present evidence or witnesses on behalf of the accused.

Why hasn't anyone close to Trump come forward to defend him? Have you seen anything on TV or read that the witnesses are lying? You think his kids lied when they were quoted telling him to call it off?

Defend the fear that the Secret Service had for their life and that of Pence. Imagine calling your wife to say goodbye...that you may die befire you see her again.

Man am I sorry I was too busy entertaining to read this drivel.  This is an absolute classic in a long line of classic TDS posts.  Goofy, I want you to think about this for a second and ponder the following.  First we had Russia collusion and according to you it was all over for Trump...the walls are closing in.  Then we had the Manhatten left wing nut AG investigating him for his loans and according to you it was next stop...jail....the walls are closing in.  Then we had the Ukraine call and it was impeachment city...how could any real American not vote to convict.....this is it...Trump is history.  Then we had the J6 brouhaha and it was Trump incited an insurrection.....we've got the evidence...according to you he is done, finito, kaput....the walls are closing in and he should be in jail.  Am certain there are many more that I am forgetting...which is understandable since there seems to be a new one every other month.

And now all of the sudden, after all those others fell apart....Russia collusion was a hoax ochestrated by SHrillery, the follow up left wing nut AG drops the investigation because it was a sure loser.......Ukraine impeachment a waste of time with an acquittal by the Senate.......no one except left wing nut TDS sufferers like you even care about J6 but despite a totally one-sided presentation of hearsay with zero actual cross examination as set up by a bunch of TDS sufferers (Dems and RINOs) the whole insurrection nonsense has fallen apart, zapped, obliterated.......cause ya know, there was no insurrection and Trump never encouraged one...but you already knew that in your heart of hearts.....so now after all this.....it's come to dereliction of duty because you don't think he acted quickly enough or whatever.  It's the latest shiny new object but as with the others it is pyrite (look it up).
