What a small world! Hi, neighbor! Once the folks actually move into their new doublewide, I will try to address the dog situation with them. I like dogs and, occasionally, my children bring their two dogs to the lake, but they stay close to the house and us. There is now a fenced area on the lake side (and the side next to me) of the doublewide and some of the dogs are kept there. They bark loudly and ceaselessly. There was a man there last week, but we aren't sure if he just came to tend the dogs or what his purpose was. One of the dogs appears to be old and arthritic, but that didn't stop the fellow from yelling at him and squirting him with a hard jet of water from the hosepipe. The two dogs from the brick house have never been a problem, but there now appear to be at least six, between the two. 'Pack' is certainly the correct term (and evidenced by the muddy footprints all over our porch). Sure did make my early morning 'coffee on the porch quiet time' a distant dream...(although, sitting on my 50-year old 30 s.f. porch, I do envy their beautiful new home with it's big deck.....big sigh). Holler at us the next time we're there; you are a year 'rounder, right?

that is animal cruelty, if you really want the dogs gone....Call!! that is awful that someone would spray their dog like that. you can have them removed if you really want. my mom has taken in 2 dogs that were abused... there are people out there that would treat those dogs with kindness.

I was most happy to read this post from you ot. I was concerned as to your feelings about animals after reading your post about JIM's cat.

i love animals, i have a dog and a cat... i just thought Jim may be upset he had spent the $$$ when everyone said the cat would come down anyway. i rescued a big orange cat last year (now lives with my sister) i spent nearly $500 on him before i knew what to do with him. i had to have him put to sleep to have his ears and teeth cleaned and have an abscess removed from his chin.... funny story the Vet was a graduate from Auburn so when he found a tooth like thing stuck in the cats chin he sent it off to Auburn.... he had been bit by a rat, and the rats tooth broke off in his chin causing the abscess. he had been de-clawed so he had to fight with his mouth rather than his paws while on the "street". i had no idea my message came across like that, i had inquired twice yesterday!

Thats great ot. Maybe it was the receiver vs. the transmitter; meaning I misread your post. We have a regular zoo so to speak. I think our Vet. counts on us for funding her annual vacation. (LOL).

Hope you have a nice weekend.
