There are tough times ahead for our country. The ignorant have the one key they need to aggrandize themselves – their vote for the candidate who will sponsor or support entitlement. These same indigents could not tell you the names of their representative or senators… could not name the governor of the state… could not recite, much less explain the three branches of government. They have never heard “The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg.” Such people can barely read and certainly such a classic would not be in their field of interest.

No, the entitled do not compose the entire liberal vote, but they number enough to insure its cause. Under normal circumstances, such base humanity would not… could not… bother to get themselves to the polls, read a ballot, and operate the voting machine. So, they are transported to the polls, handed a picture of the voting machine display, and assisted with entering their votes (selected for them).

People who know nothing about civics, history, or economics are voting. Not only is that FACT discouraging, but, they are also proficient at (re)producing copies of themselves and their largesse dependent culture. Such culture celebrates breeding behavior but terminates the obligations of fatherhood immediately after zipping up one’s sagging pants. The tribulation of women and children under such despicable pressure is institutionalized by a system of entitlement. Paternity under such circumstances is meaningless as there are no legitimate resources to wrest for the benefit of mother and child(ren)... only our resources, in a bastardized version of eminent domain, are available for seizure.

We are witnessing the demise of the Golden Goose. In the darkness of Saturday night, the blade was honed keen and sharp… and the eyes of the indigent, and their powerful craven (power craving) benefactors, are on the goose.

Your piece of the pie gets smaller. How shall be apportioned that of you children and their children?

Gotta go along with those sentiments. They had it right at one time. You had to be a property owner to vote. Still should be that way. If you can't get yourself educated/trained enough to own property, you don't have any vested interest in the common good except what's in it for you. Nor have you displayed any proof that you could vote in an intelligent manner.

Cool.........by the by, curious if you have read the novel "Gods and Generals" by Jeff Shaara (son of the Pulitzer winner Michael Shaara who wrote "The Killer Angels"?) Civil War stories.......does not dwell on the right or wrong of the civil war, but a great novel on the choices people had to make and the consequences of those choices, burdens that men, women and families shared, the principal players in the conflict, the leadership styles that were successful and those that were miserable failures. It was a fascinating read and one that I was sorry came to an end. Your take on it if you have read it?

The War Between the States is not my study period. I would not have read “Gods and Generals” except that a friend of mine acted in the miniseries by the same title. I have read “Lee’s Lieutenants”(Freeman, 1946)… and those volumes, and others concerning the life and philosophy of Lee, are in my collection. I have not read “Killer Angels”. I have done a map reconnaissance of the Gettysburg Campaign and have copies of the maps ("The Official Military Atlas of the Civil War",Davis, et al, 1983 Edition).

I am more of a student of the Colonial and Revolutionary War periods 1750 – 1800.
