Obama budget is out and is a total of $3.73 trillion with a $1.65 trillion deficit versus the last budget deficit of $1.29 trillion.  Most objectionable in my estimation is the use of the term "investment" to describe wasteful spending on programs of dubious to zero value.  Gee, I sure miss all the deficit hawks on the left that screamed bloody murder over average annual deficits of $160 billion under Bush (which by the way only increased from that average when Dems took over Congress in 2006).

The GOP in the House will hopefully propose $100 billion in cuts and wait to hear the left going nuts over starving Grandma, firing police and firefighters, sending poor people into homelessness and on and on.  Funny, a mere three years ago under Bush the deficit was a mere $400 billion and that with all the porkulus spending of a Congress controlled by Dems.

And ... the "little" he reduced in this budget from his outrageous spending since he has been in office, 32% is coming from new taxes or tax increases.

CNBC anology is a company that is ready to go under or on the brink of bankruptcy deciding that rather than reduce their spending immediately, they say we will implement a price increase and hope it saves them.

I can not see how anyone can honestly support this administration.  that have to be in denial.

CNBC had on a democrat strategist and they are still trying to blame Bush ... their answer was the problem is the Bush tax cuts and they should have expired.  When asked "everyone" the person evaded the question.

At least Kudlow was smart enough to say that even if the tax cuts expired ... his budget would still be a deficit more than double Bush's highest deficit.

More liberals in denial.

you nailed it.what few blue dogs were in congress have been run off.only,20% make up progressives and they are running everything in the country.there are still too many rhinos and social politicians of the old establishment to cause any bumps in the road.it will take another spring cleaning in nov 2012.the senate has to be torn down and the socialist clown replaced.i don't see anybody that can beat the dem machine of corruption.i have no confidence,of any of the supposed polled candidates since, they are like all the other rhinos.we need new blood with the right philosophy and thick skin.public sector unions killing america like Europe.bailouts to the states to pay for benefits and pension plans that are ridiculous can't continue.stimulus for auto makers went to pay union contracts so they could operate and redistribute the taxpayer money to the unions.

The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.  A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

A billion seconds ago, it was 1959.
A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.
A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
A billion days ago, no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government Is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans.  It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.  Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D) is presently asking Congress for  250 BILLION DOLLARS to rebuild New Orleans . Interesting number .  What does it mean?

A.   If you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, and child), you each get $516,528.
B.   Or - If you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.
C.  Or - If you are a family of four - your family gets $2,066,012.

Washington, D. C    HELLO!    Are all your calculators broken??

The burn rate of 8 hours is outdated. Current spending patern is probably closer to 4 hours per billion.
